OT: Prince Fielder "Should" get a suspension

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Tue Aug 14, 2007 7:34 pm

Apparently he bumped the umpire while arguing the called strike three so that should be a suspension. Remember, Lou got suspended 4 games in June for "bumping" an umpire.

He probably will not be suspended though. The Brewers are in a pennant race and Bud Selig used to own the Brewers so I doubt Bud wants to help us out.

I sure will be mad if Prince doesn't get any games.

Why do you care about the Cubs?

And how is following the clearly stated rules being a homer?

Can you really take a JR Smith fan serious? I mean c'mon, even Ruben Douglas would kick the crap out of him one on one.

Seriously though, I think he just figured out how to put pictures in his posts and has been trying to find a situation in which to utilize this new found ability.

Sure I'm a homer here but I don't really think he bumped him. They were about 3 feet apart but both have big bellies so they may have touched a little bit.

And actually it was the ump that went after Fielder as Fielder was walking back to the dugout. If anything the ump bumped Fielder.

I can't stand umps that think the fans are paying to see them. In this case Fielder had his say, the ump had his say, Fielder turned and was part way back to the dugout and the ump followed him and started yelling at him some more. From what I understand he said a certain word that is over the line for an ump. If Fielder gets a suspension, the ump will too.

Boy was Prince getting into it with that umpire. IMO, he shouldn't get suspended for it.

Wow SW you had a good argument pointing that out but I never thought he'd be suspended. I kinda agreed with Mickey on it. Fielder was on his way back and both did have big bellies.

Then again Lou's bump was more of a wiggle into the ump from yelling violently and Fielder's was pretty much the same thing.

O'well it only helps us out.

I still can't believe how bad both teams are playing.

The radio said he will be appealing it. Does anyone know how many appeals actually get the original sentence shortened?

Prince won't wait it out. He will drop it sometime soon because the appeal could go all the way into September.
He should just get it over with before the stretch run.

Yeah, we would lose anyway, so there really is no point of him playing.

Hey Brewer fans,

When do you think he will serve his suspension?

I think a lot of it has to do with how close the race is... or is it more the opponents being played?

If I were him I would serve it as soon as possible before crunch time with only limited baseball left.

He will use it against the Giants next week.
Very tough home run ballpark and a crappy team.

Return to Chicago Cubs
