Where: Wrigley Field
Time: 7:05pm CT
TV: CSN
Radio: WGN 720
Pitching Matchups:
Chicago Cubs(Carlos Zambrano)
@
Milwaukee Brewers(Ben Sheets)
Scouting Reports:
Brewers:
The team thought right-hander Ben Sheets might be able to pitch on Aug. 25 in San Francisco, but a second blister on his middle finger derailed those hopes. Now they are shooting for this series in Chicago, a key showdown between the National League Central's top two teams. Sheets has not pitched since mid-July because of torn tissue around a tendon in his middle finger, and the blisters prolonged his time on the shelf. He threw in the outfield on Tuesday and said he expected to be ready to go.
Cubs:
Zambrano walked four and gave up six hits over 5 1/3 innings in his last start against the Giants. He is 0-for-August, and has fallen short in four tries at his 15th win. Big Z also has yet to win since signing his $91.5 million contract with the Cubs. Zambrano has to watch the walks -- he walked three in one inning, including a free pass to pitcher Matt Cain, who later hit a two-run homer. Zambrano is 2-0 against the Brewers so far this season.

Keys to the Game:
*Make Sheets throw pitches.
Sheets didn't go through any rehab starts so this will his first time pitching in a real game in 1-2 months. Make him throw a lot of pitches early since he will probably be on a pitch count. Take pitches also (I'm talking to you Alfonso) Also, the earlier we get into the Brewers bullpen, the better.
*Steal bases
As noted above, Sheets has not pitches in a Major League game for over a month and his pick off move won't be exact tonight. Theriot should try stealing a few bases tonight and if Alfonso is up to it, have him attempt some.
Also, the Brewers catcher Johnny Estrada is one of the worst catchers in the league. He has allowed 57 stolen bases this year and has a caught stealing percentage of .162.

Big Z needs to control his walks tonight as well. It has killed him the past few games.

Expect Sheets to be rocky. Hopefully we can get to him early and not wait for another heroic inning.

Don't get your hopes up.
Sheets will look like Cy Young until Yost takes him out when he has 60 pitches.

$20 a month, think it was $100 for the year.
