ESPN RADIO REPORTS THE CUBS GET "THE HUMAN RAIN DELAY" LOL. mr. trachsel. he will be available for a playoff start. so the cubs get another arm to maybe spot start.
thoughts?
he knows wrigley.

i liked rocky cherry, but we could use thrachs experience. hendry is obviously thinking playoffs. i have no problem w/ this.

Why? We have Marquis for our "veteran long relief" guy in the playoffs. We shouldn't have had to give up anything of value for this guy.
If we have to go to Marquis AND Trachsel in the playoffs, we've already lost the series.

marquis is a wild card. do you REALLY trust this guy? he is iffy when he starts. can you imagine in the playoffs? he historically is not a 2nd half pitcher. you need to have a back up plan.

Is the playoff rotation. Marquis is the vet out of the bullpen if someone really struggles early. Hell, we could go to a 3 man rotation and cut out Marshall. I don't see the need for Trachsel.

Cherry's pitched better than Trachsel this year and we would have him cheap for years.
Sorry, I doubt anything convinces me this was a good move.

wow I go out for a rollerblade before the game and we get a guy older than father time. Geez we don't need 6 starters just 4 and a long relief, hence crappy marquis for the long relief as people have stated. Trachsel? why?

I sure hope that our postseason rotation doesn't include 3 lefties... marquis will be in the rotation and probably marshall out and in the bullpen w/ the way rich hill has been pitching as of late.
