Chicago Sun Times - Jason Kendall, the veteran catcher who has given the Cubs an offensive boost at that position since being acquired in a July trade, said he wants to re-sign with the Cubs after the season, when he becomes a free agent.

''I love it here. How could you not love playing in Chicago? It's awesome,'' said Kendall, who actually was booed in his first game as a Cub after losing a foul pop.

''That's baseball. That's beautiful,'' he said of the experience. ''Just playing at Wrigley Field, just playing in front of the fans.'

 shoot me now.

I don't know what you guys find so funny. He just said he likes it here. Doesn't mean hes going to start over Soto. I actually like the idea of a career .300 hitter on his last legs and also an average defensive backstop as a backup or platoon until Soto earns his wings.

Trust me guys if Soto does get the nod in 08, there will be times that you guys are calling for Hank White to be your starting C. lol.

Ship his ass out.
The Cubs should never have a catcher that drives in runs.
.....2-0 Cubs on a Kendall 2 RBI single.
