I am done with the Cubs

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Wed Sep 12, 2007 3:42 am

15 men left on base in 11 innings.
Cubs Players combined left 26 men on base.
Dempster blows another game (although he did pitch well for 1.2 innings)
See you all next year.

No, this team doesn't want to win it.
They had plenty of chances tonight but they obviously have plans in October they don't want to miss.

this is nothing... remember in '03 the series in San Juan against the Expos where the Cubs basically gave away two games in mid to late September and fell 1.5 games back.... They'll be aiiiight

27 LOB is a high number but it is not an end-all be-all. It's a pretty misleading stat; if the bases are loaded with no outs and three batters fail to drive in runs, that counts as 9 LOB. And so on.

And it's not like the Cubs are out of the playoff picture...the Brewers are just playing Pittsburgh right now.

IF the Cubs can't go 10-8 in the remaining games, then yes, they're done. I'm hoping for 11-7 and clinching it in the final week of the season.
