Piniella, Cubs could seek an upgrade at third base (LOL)

Read this in the paper this morning. Thanks Barry Rozner you made my day

The third baseman is overrated defensively, moves only when it seems to suit him, has taken to running out fewer and fewer groundballs and deep flies, and, as you witnessed last week, is a selfish situational hitter.

But the worst sin of all was his departure from the club right after Soriano was injured in early August.

The Cubs never needed Ramirez more, but he flew back to Chicago to have an injury examined before returning to the team a few days later.

The Cubs dropped four of six while he was out and scored 9 runs in those 4 defeats.

What an idiot. Take a deep breath and put the Haterade down Mr. Rozner.

I read that this morning as well. He usually does not make dumb articles like this one, so I will give him a break.

This article is completely reactionary. It belongs as a knee-jerk response in one of our game threads, not as a newspaper piece.

You can criticize A-Ram for the playoffs, lord knows I have. But trying to say his effort and play was lacking in the regular season is laughable when he was easily our best player. The overrated defensively comment is a joke too.

I don't see how acquiring A-Rod means Ramirez has to go. Alex can play SS or even RF for God's sake, taking out our best player just makes no sense.

With an article like this, I have to ask if any of you live near Rockford. Because if so, this is Matt Trowbridge-esque.
