Just listening to Waddle and Silvy on AM1000 and they mentioned something about the back page of the sun times.
So I walked down to the street to grab it.
Shocked. Sun Times saying NY would be interested in Lou if Torre got fired. They're even saying Lou would have some interest.
Ahhhh bahhumbug!
If I was Lou, winning with the Cubs = God; winning with the Yanks = just another successful Yankee manager.
True. I'd stick with the Cubs.

The picture is from the mid 80's by the way.
Just putting nightmare images in Cub fans' heads.

I was actually thinking about this the other day, I thought they probably would have interest in Lou, even more so then Larussa.
I think Lou isnt a quitter and is a man of integrity, I dont think he would bail for NY.
Its kind of funny because he would be up against Joe Giardi again.

He pretty much shot this down on an interview with Waddle and Silvy, but then again coaches have said stuff then hopped on the plane to go against their word the next day.

In the interview Lou says we lacked speed and athleticism in the lineup for the playoffs. Then he continues to talk about Soriano not having his legs and that if he did we would've been able to score more runs.
Then he says Theriot was the only one who made a steal attempt.
Didn't he just answer the question right there?
Bat Theriot at leadoff. duh!

If Lou goes to New York he will be the most hated man in Chicago but seriously, I don't see Lou leaving.

Piniella Not Thinking About Yankees
http://www.realgmbaseball.com/src_wiret ... t_yankees/
Chicago Tribune - Lou Piniella has repeatedly said Chicago will be his last stop, no matter if the Yankees job is available.
"He's extraordinarily happy managing the Cubs," said Alan Nero, Piniella's agent. "I can't see any circumstance in which Lou is not in a Cubs uniform next year."
Rumors that Piniella craved the Yankees job began last October when New York was ousted by Detroit in the division series and Piniella was still working as an analyst for Fox.Last February in Mesa, Ariz., after having become the Cubs' manager, Piniella admitted he didn't want to see Steinbrenner at the time, fearing a meeting would feed the rumor mill.

If Lou wins a world series with...
Yankees=another manager that took a bunch of all-stars to the playoffs, then luck(as Billy Beane puts it) bounces his way.
Cubs=GOD!
