Cubs should trade for Homer Bailey this offseason before Dusty ruins him.

I hope the Reds GM is ready to start dealing his young players for old washed up vets because they're never gonna see the field anymore.

"2nd thing, find out where Jose Macias is hiding and get him in the line-up as well." Where else could he be hiding but Milwaukee? He is signed with the Brew Crew. Dusty should trade Philips and Encarnacion for that old powerhouse.

I didn't know he was hiding in Milwaukee. Good thing he didn't get any PT with them.

Brew Crew would have ran away with the division if the would have replaced that rookie Braun with Jose Macias at 3rd.

since i'm a dusty fan i'm worried about this move... i don't think the reds will make the playoffs but i think they'll get above .500 this year, maybe 84, 85 wins, with the winner of the central getting about 90. (and i will bump this thread if that happens)

If you heard the interview...

His little rant about being a winner; taking the Giants from the bottom to the top, Cubs from the bottom to the top, the Reds... just the bottom.

Did he seriously say he took the Cubs from the bottom to the top? Does he forget 2005 and 2006 or was he in some sort of old man coma?

Dusty Baker was a horrible manager. He was a players manager only. He did not focus on winning as much as others managers like Lou Piniella do. Thanks to him, we had to endure the Neifi Perez project and much more. He overused out pitchers and his box of toothpicks, and threw away our chances on going to the World Series as he was outmanaged by Jack McKeon. IE: The Game 6 decisions he made.
But I cannot deny that he did have success his fist year. But this dissatisfaction was not only felt by Cubs fans, but Giants fans as well.

Oh and I heard Baker would be interested in having Jacque Jones play for him in Cincinnati. Just the type of player he would love.

Any Dusty article that doesn't mention Neifi is useless.

And it's laughable that anyone would argue he's not responsible for Prior's injuries. I've talked about this too much (recently in the Torre thread on the General Board), but Dusty's use of Prior in September of 2003 when he was 23 bordered on insanity. He took the best pitching prospect in a decade and had him throw 5 games of 124+ pitches in a one month span at an age where he should've just left college. He destroyed our franchise player. For that fact alone, he should be booed everytime he steps onto Wrigley.

He's the reason you see things like the "Joba rules." We can quibble about how bad a game manager he was (lord knows I'm not his biggest fan), but it's just flat out irresponsible and cruel what he did to the Cubs franchise and Prior.
