The Mitchell Report

Post#1 » by GYBE » Thu Dec 13, 2007 6:42 pm

It appears Kerry Wood will be named in the report due today, linking him to steroids/PED's. Dissapointing, but understandable given all his injuries and how they help with recovery time. Not acceptable obviously, but considering how many are guilty and all he's been through, tough to be hard on him.

On the bright side, looks like he's the only current Cub that will be named. Mark Prior, Kyle Farnsworth and Neifi Perez are a few ex-Cubs expected to be brought up.

Another interesting name likely on there..........

Brian Roberts. This might push the O's to try and move him even harder.

Has anyone heard if the entire report will be available anywhere online?

Maybe a .pdf file or something?

I think everyone would like their own opportunity to "flip" through it.

Amazingly, Sammy Sosa is not really linked to roids in the report.

Wow, the initial internet reports were wrong. They had a bunch of different guys (including Pujols).

Looks like no current Cubs made the list. Nice.

Don't you just hate Todd Hundley. The guy juiced and still sucked.

Hundley was awful.

Farnsworth was definitely on the juice.

Roger Clemens on the list is the most surprising thing. Andy Petite isn't much of a surprise after seeing Roger on there.

Oh my, this is just hilarious.

Look at Selig quiver!

Where is the public outcry on Clemens like Bonds is taking people is going to say Barry lied to grandjury but Roger lied to the public about his roids usage so let's put a * by his 7 cy's and keep him from making the HOF.

"Karchner said that during spring training in 1999, he observed two of his Chicago
Cubs teammates inject themselves with steroids in an apartment that Karchner was sharing with
them. Karchner declined to identify the players. He said that one of the players brought the
steroids to the apartment but was afraid of needles and therefore asked the second player to
administer the shot. The second player injected the first player with steroids in the buttocks and
then injected himself.
Later that season, Karchner was offered steroids by certain of his Cubs
teammates." Page 280 in report. Who were these two players and why did Karchner not identify them? Is he lying?

I haven't looked into the report closely myself, but I believe Benito Santiago and Glenallen Hill were both on the list. I'm not sure if he is talking about them, or someone else like a Sosa, Henry Rodriguez, or Mickey Morandini!

I was kinda hoping everyone would be caught off guard by someone like Derrek Lee being on the list or any other good guy, but alas it is full of dbags.

The funniest one had to be fernando vina being as he works(ed) for ESPN.

I think its a little messed up that they revealed the players that are not active.

completely agree... i thought clemens did em and this helps to further my suspicions even more.....

my question is, where was the outcry when shawn merriman (chargers linebacker) was suspended for steroids? I think most would agree that steroids probably do a little more for you in football than in baseball?!?! all that i remember the media saying is "wow, if merriman hadn't been suspended he could've broke the single season sacks record." instead of "man, if merriman didn't do roids maybe he wouldn't be starting or even in the nfl!"
