Detroit's clearly better. Whoever they have with Granderson and Ordonez will be superior, and in a year or two Cabrera might even be there too (if they don't put him at 1st). That person might even be Jacque Jones, and it'll still be the best OF. That's how good those two are.

In our division, Milwaukee's might be better if Pie doesn't make adjustments. Houston would've been in the conversation had they not traded Scott.

One outfield that might be amazing in a few years is the Marlins. Hanley Ramirez (only a matter of time before he moves), Cameron Maybin and Jeremy Hermida would be incredible defensively and offensively if Maybin pans out.

I think Anaheim's (Anderson-Hunter/Mathews Jr.-Guerrero) is one of the best off the top of my head. I'll try to give you a better thought-through answer later.

I'm still not totally sold on Fukudome and Pie yet so I wouldn't call us the best outfield in baseball just yet.

The Reds may be even better in our division with Dunn-Norris "the Cubs killer" Hopper-Griffey.

If the Reds are smart, Jay Bruce is put in their OF quickly. Best hitting prospect in the minors. Him, Dunn and Griffey would be really good.

Edit: The Reds actually have a decent collection of young talent. It's not a deep system, but they have 4 guys who could be well above-average, with Bruce a potential superstar. They could be trouble in a couple of years if they keep Harang and build a bullpen.

If Soriano goes 30-30 with 100+ RBI's, Pie turns into a .300 BA .380+ OBP leadoff man with 30 SB and 100+ runs scored (wow), and Fukudome maintains his Japanese numbers with only a slight decrease..then yes.

Realistically? Not a snowballs chance in hell.

I think the Reds should have kept Hamilton, with Bruce and traded Griffey and Dunn.

Top 10 easily, top 5 potential. Detroit and Anaheim are 1 and 2. Houston and Cincy have good ones. Colorado is pretty good, too. The Mets have a solid one. Call me crazy, but Tampa's outfield is nice as well. Not better than the Cubs, but certainly not worth overlooking.

.294avg 46hr 89rbi 31sb .352obp

.282avg 19hr 83rbi 17sb .387obp

.287avg 6hr 65rbi 23sb .340obp

...plus great fielding with a cannon arm at every position.

I wouldn't say thats the best by the numbers, but including defense, steals, and versitality, I really think we could be one of the top.

Marlon Byrd or Kenny Lofton, or MM or whoever as the 4th. Not bad, could have potential.

...there I go again talking up the beginning of the season.

I agree...I will take the Houston OF over the Cub...Lee and Pence are top 5 hitting outfielders in the NL.

Well, it's at the point where most everyone know what it stands for, and no one know how to address me. So now, everyone can call me WEFFPIM. And if they don't know what it means, then I will tell them to shove a javelin into their sternum.
