I would like to make a case for Lieber in the starting rotation... Maybe he had too many hits given up, I don't know.

fukudome should be batting 2nd and soriano 5th. Theriot leading off scares me, but we'll see what happens. I think Lieber should be in the starting rotation as well. Put Dempster as long relief.

Theriot is the last person on this team who needs more at bats.

Cedeno for SS imo.

Yes.

It's not as bad as it could be. If we switched Fukudome/Soriano and got a real leadoff hitter, it would be a really dangerous lineup.

I hate how Marquis gets the 5th spot over Lieber. Lieber has impressed me this Spring Training and Marquis has only caused problems. Besides that, I am okay with our lineup. I don't mind Kerry closing. As long as Howry is not the closer I am happy.

Marquis is great in April during the cold weather.

Let him pitch through April and when he starts sucking the big one which is inevitable send his as$ to the pen imo.

Aside from that stupid graphic, it seems to me that Lou gave Dempster a spot in the rotation in the beginning. I thought there was supposed to be competition between the 3 (Dempster/Marquis/Lieber). From their ST numbers, I would give the spots to Lieber and Marquis.

Dempster is a gimp and I cannot wait for his train wreck of a season.

It's to split the lefties.

Lou has said that he may carry 12 pitchers, so two of them may make the roster.

Cotts was already sent to AAA and I am not sure about Lahey's status. With Eyre out with an injury, we will see at least one of the two of Marshall and Pignatiello. The dilemma then is do you keep Marshall at AAA so he can continue to start or do you put him in the bullpen as your lone lefty reliever?

I'm sure dempster's just between hill and lilly so it's not two lefties in a row.

This lineup oughtta be vastly different at the end of the year. hopefully hendry comes up with a SS upgrade midseason and Pie hits better than he did last year. As it is now, I think Theriot should hit 7th or 8th, and DeRosa should lead off. At least at the beginning of the season, I could see having Soriano 2nd instead of Fukudome. Fuku's had a crummy spring, and is an unknown commodity.

Also, count me among those not thrilled with Cedeno. How does anyone think this guy has value? He had a great chance in '06, and he showed that he can't hit his way out of a paper bag. Do you want a guy with a .271 OBP in your lineup? What's his ceiling? Neifi Perez?
