All are welcome.

Draft is set for Monday Aug 25th @ 7:15pm. If anyone has any conflict please let me know in this thread and I'll try to accommodate everyone. Rules, scoring, players, etc... Don't hesitate. Make your suggestion, people can comment, and we'll see how everyone feels about it. :)

I named my team "The Galloping Ghosts", after my high school alma mater hero, Red Grange. In his honor I'm posting my HS football field, named in his honor. Home of my, undefeated-state champ, 1998 Tigers.

Right now everything is set on Yahoo's default, I'm itching to include some defensive players into the mix... I guess thats the official first suggestion...?!? thoughts?

I'd be in for it.

By the way I won the two leagues I was in last year.

Hermes, just join. All in good fun. No one is winning or losing anything, except pride.

Any thoughts on adding defensive players? I know some like it traditional with offensive guys and a defensive team... Also, waiting to see if I should push it back so more peeps can see this thread and sign up.

I would love to do a league with you guys, however, I'm already in two leagues and past that you're rooting for just about every player in the league.

OFFENSE

QB - 1
WR - 2
RB - 2
TE - 1
WR/TE - 1
WR/RB - 1

DEFENSE

DB - 2
DL - 2
D(misc) - 1

Kicker - 1

Please take note that I changed the kickers scoring. It makes him a little bit more meaningful. 50+ kicks are worth a touchdown.

All the offensive stuff is standard. I'm a little unsure about tackles and assist-tackles. 2 and 1, respectively...?!?

Also, I figured a safety is a big deal, since it rarely happens, but not so much because its only worth 2 points in real football. So, I figured a safety and a tackle, worth 4 points total, is fair value (same amount of points as the other defensive turnovers).

Code: Select all

Passing Yards (25 yards per point)
Passing Touchdowns (4)
Interceptions (-1)
Rushing Yards (10 yards per point)
Rushing Touchdowns (6)
Reception Yards (10 yards per point)
Reception Touchdowns (6)
Return Touchdowns (6)
2-Point Conversions (2)
Fumbles Lost (-2)
Offensive Fumble Return TD (6)
Field Goals 0-19 Yards (2)
Field Goals 20-29 Yards (3)
Field Goals 30-39 Yards (4)
Field Goals 40-49 Yards (5)
Field Goals 50+ Yards (6)
Point After Attempt Made (1)
Tackle Solo (2)
Tackle Assist (1)
Sack (4)
Interception (4)
Fumble Force (4)
Touchdown (6)
Safety (2)

If anyone has any suggestion or concerns, don't hesitate.

The more the merrier. I'd like some of the other posters I see often on here. Fukudome1, cold5, matbulls, etc. (sorry if I missed you, all from memory.)

And GYBE... I know Canadians know what football is, please join. :D

Kickers usually are scored...

extra point ~ 1
0-19 ~ 3
20-29 ~ 3
30-39 ~ 3
30-49 ~ 4
50+ ~ 5

I evened it out a little better.

Oh... I think the point I was trying to make slipped by.

I was pointing out the difference between the changes I had made. This is the default scoring for kickers...

Code: Select all

extra point ~ 1
0-19 ~ 3
20-29 ~ 3
30-39 ~ 3
40-49 ~ 4
50+ ~ 5

I changed it to scale 1 to 6 having the 50+ FGs worth 6 points.

extra point ~ 1
0-19 ~ 2
20-29 ~ 3
30-39 ~ 4
40-49 ~ 5
50+ ~ 6

I figured it would make the difference between a Josh Brown (STL) vs a David Akers or a Robbie Gould.

Josh Brown makes a ton of 40+ yard FGs and plays indoors half the times. He'd get a lot of high value FGs.

David Akers is accurate and plays for a pretty good offense (PHI), but will never hit anything past 45 yards. Robbie Gould just sucks right now.

Anyways, think about your kickers, fellas.

How about we make the draft a little later at night, or another night altogether.

Hermes, just let me know whats good for you, I can change it, and if anyone has conflict, please speak now or forever hold your crappy players.
