Good news, I was hoping for 8 or 9 million per year but the guy can flat out hit. He led the AL in OBP OPS+ last year. I'm just worried about his health so hopefully there are incentives in this deal.

Cubs should just let him rest till July, I figure Soriano will be on the DL by then and Bradley can fill in.

I doubt Lou drops Lee that much. He will likely bat 3rd or 5th and the same goes for Rammy.

Levine was on the Score today to discuss the Bradley signing and said Miles right now is the opening day leadoff hitter. He said, unless something else is done, Miles will be the leadoff hitter and then went on to say he doubts we make any other deals to bring in a leadoff hitter. He was definitely hinting at Brian Roberts and basically saying if Baltimore calls with a can't leave offer, we got Miles as leadoff. Take it for what it's worth.
But i do love this move. I am not a Bradley fan and never have been. However, i don't like BRADLEY, i do admire his skills. Normally, i hope my teams shy away from bad temper/cancer type players like him, but for this Cubs team who seems to be always so scared in the playoffs i think it's best. Reminds me of the Red Sox when they won the first world series in a long time, where they were the crazy, drunken Red Sox... i know this is only a start but we need guys like this. Who will just laugh at the "curse talk" and are angry when something bad happens.

We'll see if they interview Bradley on Chicago Tribune Live today in 30 minutes.

Expected, but a good move. He was the best bat on the market outside of Teixeira and really mashes against RHP.
I find it weird that Ibanez got more than both Bradley and Burrell. Phillies overpaid.

I just tied to mix up the right/lefty players since that seems to be the Cubs plan. If Miles leads off Lee would be a good number two hitter since his power numbers have declined slightly.

The Phillies downgraded with Ibanez and had to pay more, pretty ironic.
If Bradley did not have all of these injury concerns and actually played a full season, I can't imagine what his asking price would be.

Miles will only play against lefties. I don't care what Levine says, there's no way he's a regular lead-off guy.

Now if Hendry can pull of the Peavy deal I will finally get over DeRo leaving.

2nd might be the best spot in the lineup for Lee if for no other reason than if Miles gets on they can use the hit and run more often to keep Lee from hitting into 400 double plays again this year.
