I'm not going to lie I love Harden, but this stinks like Prior. Harden is downplaying this and saying he will be ready for the start of the season. I'm going to have to call this one like it is and say he doesn't start more than 9 games this season.

This is exactly why this team still needs an ace come October. Zambrano is not reliable enough & Harden is less than 50/50 to be healthy in October.

If Harden struggles to stay healthy all year Lou should put him in the pen and have him set up Marmol come playoff time. I know I am not the only one who doesn't want that loser Gregg seeing the mound come playoff time.

Harden is going to end up being a closer a year from now. No doubt about it. One of the most dominating pitchers when healthy, but is about as durable as a free lifestyle condom.

Harden has always had injury problems, and the Cubs knew that when they acquired him. There is still a lot of time until Opening Day for Harden to be ready. A 2009 Harden with 20 starts is well worth Matt Murton and Eric Patterson who struggled for Oakland and would not have played on this roster. That trade was one of a few where Jimbo did not get screwed.

Yeah we knew this would happen. Harden was a nice midseason pickup and we hoped it would bring us a World Series but that didn't pan out. Now we're stuck with him.

I don't know.. If we got a few good starts from Harden last year & a 3 inning performance in the playoffs.. Was it worth it?

We gave up Sean Gallagher who I am still high on.. I think he is a # 2/3 starter once he figures a few things out.

If Harden is not healthy much of this year & is not resigned next year how can we say it was a good trade? We gave up a great pitching prospect & could end up with very little from Harden.

When healthy Harden is one of the elite pitchers in baseball. Yes, it was a high risk move that may not work out well the rest of the way but if it does the trade will have been more than worth it.

I liked Gallagher a lot, but in this rotation the Cubs have a few pitchers that could be 5th starters like Marshall or Chad Gaudin. Hell if we get Peavy then Ted Lilly will be our 5th starter.

I will wait until a bit later in the season to make a more accurate assessment on Harden.
