Kevin Gregg - GTFO

Post#1 » by WAYSA » Sat May 16, 2009 7:45 pm

It's time for the Marmol/Guzman 8/9th role. This is ridiculous. Kevin Gregg is awful. I haven't seen a relief appearance this piss poor since LaToya Hawkins was throwing batting practice years ago.

Kevin Gregg is a piece of trash.

Please stop defending this clown. He's a joke of a closer.

I was supporting this guy early on and he started to get going and now this happens..... Gregg sucks. It's not as if Wood has been better but considering K-Rod and Putz were on the market and both went to the same team we could have had a real closer. We should trade for Valverde or somebody worthwhile who shuts down games.

Kerry Wood
13 0 0 12.0 13 8 8 2 5 17 1 1 5 0 1 1.50 6.00
Don't make this an argument of Wood vs Gregg. They've both sucked so far. K-Rod and Putz were really the guys we should have gone after.

yeah Gregg's outing today was horrible. i'm hoping Guzman/Marmol can solidify the 8th/9th spot. but somebody still has to step up and pitch the 7th. the bullpen is a work in progress. thank God Guzman is starting to come into his own lately. MAYBE if Wells continue to pitch like this, we can keep Marshall in the bullpen. He could certainly fill the role of 7th inning man.

When we first signed Kevin Gregg i knew he was going to suck.. i remember that game when he blew a two run lead for the marlins vs us when he through a fastball straight down the middle TWICE and cliff floyd banged that ball.... Gregg should not be on a major league team.

But the thing about Wood is that he had a very good year last year. Why did Hendry decide to give up on him and trade a good prospect in Ceda for Gregg, when Wood even said he would take a pay cut to Gregg's level to stay? Ceda could have been a good piece in a Peavy deal as well.

I would still rather have Kerry despite his terrible season. I think things would be different in his second year.

i knew we'd lose. i was positive when i got back in the car, the game would be over. i was right. we lost. kevin gregg sucks!

Kerry Wood has been bad this year but it's hard to go over to the American League from the National League and this is the first time he's even been in the AL so he's seeing hitters for the first time. His ERA would be much lower had we kept him.

Kevin Gregg sucks.

He does remind me of Latroy Hawkins. I remember when Hawkins gave up a game winning/tying HR against the Mets. Victor Diaz hit a ball in the right field Wrigley bleachers with a two strike/two out count in the top of the ninth. Thats what yesterday's game reminded me of. Suck fest.
