Keon Johnson hasn't played because of the virus but we need to keep an eye on that team as well

He's more PG 2.0. All around wing with hopefully more willingness to be an alpha than PG ever wanted to be. Kind of perfect for our core anyway. Him and RJ sharing playmaking duties would be fantastic for both of their development curves IMO. Also having elite play finishers like Toppin and Mitch makes Cade way more valuable.

Agreed, we can figure out his role later...lets gets him first :)

yeah forgot about him for a second. He is a big time athlete.

But the shot is a question mark.

Kinda reminds me of Isaac Okoro as a prospect. We need to see if he's as tenacious of a defender though.

He's averaging more turnovers than assists but I do expect that to change eventually

To be fair his teammates are subpar. If they were better he'd have better assist #s.

It's not that hard to believe, we're pretty much the only team without a young PG right now, so if we get the top pick Suggs could definitely fall based on who will be the worst teams in the league and how many of them have a PG.

It's doubtful that Cunningham will be able to defend NBA point guards, that's not a knock on him so much so that it's pretty much impossible for players that size to check guards fulltime. He'd play at the 3 and guard the 3, like Luka and LeBron do, even Ben Simmons doesn't guard the 1.

Iono fam, I hear what you're saying and logically it makes sense. But Cade may be the one to be able to do it. Livingston did it during his brief run before his devastating injury. Cade is a very smart defender and uses his length to offset the lack of elite foot speed. It bears watching tho. It also will depend on the makeup of the team he ends up on.

Like, if he became a Knick, I could see Thibs tailoring a defense to take advantage of all the length associated with young guys like Cunningham, Ntilikina, RJ, Mitch, and even Quickley. Thibs is known for creating elite team defensive concepts that don't put his point of attack defenders on an island. Which is how he was able to run out league best defenses with PGs like Rose, Nate, Augustin, etc. None of which were good defenders in a vacuum, but he allowed them to be sufficient in the concept of his team defense. If they could do well in it, I am sure Cunningham would be able to. Considering he has greater physical tools and better instincts.

In order to record the assist your teammates must be able to get buckets.

Schmidt is still good but Givony is trash. He is better at scouring the plant and the Earth's end for hidden gems (being a relationship officer with international scouts). But he is not good at all evaluating talent first hand, especially the ones right here under his nose.
