Things I am impressed with:

* - willingness to clean defensive board. It is such simple thing, but yet MIN as team fails to secure the ball. He is a good defensive rebounder, takes care of long rebounds.

* - willingness to execute simple passes. We have this problem: we have unbelievable passes from DLo (for instance this play with JMac running without the ball and DLo throwing no look, go ahead pass), we have fancy, but not necessary efficient passes from Towns and some really solid passes from Beverley. As for basic, but effective passes we have kind of void. It becomes worrisome when we need to load Towns in the post, or hit open player in the corner or just execute second, third pass on perimeter. Moore can do it all.

* - his willingness to use his body, both in offense and defense. He is not most athletic guy in the gym, but certainly one of the most physical.

* - he has some confidence in his catch and shoot skills


Things he needs to improve:

* - he won't be main ballhandler in MIN, he needs to watch a ton of videos how to play next to Towns and Edwards. He needs to cut, he needs to relocate on perimeter to get open.

* - he needs to tighten his dribble, add some advanced moves, techniques such as splitting double team when he is leading PNR.

* - he needs to improve his footwork and shooting touch around the rim. He's got a strong body, good hands and impressive wingspan. Right now he needs to learn how to use left hand, how to score in the post, how to score by using technique. Best example here is Jimmy Butler. Wendell should watch every video where Butler gets to the rim.

* - he needs a go-to move. Right now his go-to move is open three point shot in the corner. I hope he can expand this to 1-2 step pull up jumper, or step back mid range shot etc. He can't create for himself, but he can add one move that gives him an opportunity to score

Development path: it might sound not too sexy, but I see Moore being our version of Derrick White. Smart, tough combo guard in playoffs caliber team. Honestly, I would be happy with this. But if Moore becomes a crafty finisher and ballhandler he will be a star. This is IMO swing factor for Moore.

The more i think about it I think he ends up better than Ochai Agbaji. Agbaji is a better three point shooter by a bit but Moore is better at almost everything else. He also is a year and a half younger.

I have seen some HL about him and I really love his shooting mechanics . According to me could be a steal. He is very clever, both with the ball and off the ball with his movements...

I have seen good defense.

Leading up to the draft, the 76ers board was like the Wendell Moore fan club. He's the perfect ancillary piece, and has a lot more skill than he gets credit for. At times he was a legit lead operator out of the pick & roll at Duke.

Thanks for the update. We never talked about him that I recall. He was expected to go after our pick at 19 and before our pick at 40.

Most NBA nicknames are a combination of initials. Why are they so boring. If he needs to have a nickname I hope it's something creative. I'm more interested in what kind of nickname Kessler has. Possibilities are limitless.

I'm impressed with how he's improved, both his body and his skills. Shows the drive needed to get better that hopefully will keep him on an upward trajectory. He know where the weight room is. My own opinion limited to the draft videos I've gathered:

Strengths: Keeps his eyes up and head on a swivel. decent first step. Quick hands and feet on the defensive end and good (not great) lateral agility and short area quickness overall. Good body control on offense and uses his body against the defender well when attacking the basket. Excellent fuctional strength and length for an NBA guard. Good form and release on the catch and shoot. Very effective attacking the basket going to his right. Rebounds his position well.

Weaknesses: Built like Westbrook but does not have that extra gear. Poor vertical explosiveness. Struggles with balance and creating separation shooting off the dribble.

Overall: Will have to start his career as a complimentary player. Will need work to be a threat at all 3 levels before he can be trusted as a primary creator. Should be able to step into a role right away as a 3&D defender, maybe even backup Pat Bev style PG once he learns the offense.

Think Culver with a great shot, but not quite as much athleticism.
