Why do you call Collins, or Wood, empty stats guys? Both of their teams were significantly better with them on the floor through their careers. Guys who make their teams worse, like Domatas Sabonis or DDR, are better examples of empty stats.

Also, Wood is not on the Hawks.

Atlanta is moving him because the GM is a moron who has no clue what their issues are. He's just guessing and scapegoating until he get fired.

lol ugh forget that one part idk why i thought that

But yea still the point was Atlanta has been trying to dump this guy for a minute and he’s locked up on a pretty big deal. Bobby Portis is better at everything too.

Totally agree that Bobby is better. Bobby is pretty underrated.

Taj Gibson have anything left? Could be a good vet min target.

If you want Taj Gibson you will have to pry him out of Tom Thinbedeau’s cold, dead, hands.

Thoughts on frank Jackson? Sounds like the pistons aren’t going to pick up his option.

Believe it or not, it really looks like Gibsons non guaranteed deal might be a cap casualty in their pursuit of Jalen Brunson.

Taj Gibson started hitting 3s this past season. That, and his defensive work make him an interesting minimum vet for the bench.

So are we interested in Rose? And did that already get talked about? This would be fine if the price is sensible.

Haven't watched him that closely so not sure where he's at but I liked him previously.

I saw some tweet saying that The Ringer reported we’re interested in him but I haven’t seen the actual report

Numerous rival teams, meanwhile, say with even more conviction now than they did last week — when I first it reported on Wednesday — that they expect PJ Tucker to land in Philadelphia on a three-year, $30 million deal in free agency. If Pat Riley’s Heat can find a way now to re-sign Tucker, they will definitely surprise some people.

Would be typical for a sixers team but that has very high boom bust potential. Great starting five but relying on the health of Embiid, PJs fountain of youth not drying up and Harden not being harden of last year. Could see them everywhere from 1 seed to 8 seed lol

I find it funny that the best Daryl Morey can come up with is to reassemble as many guys from those good Rockets teams as he can. I hope he goes and gets Eric Gordon too. I'm not even saying it's a bad strategy even if all those guys are getting old, I just find it funny.

Perhaps it's time to have a chat with his agent..

I thought the deal was we worked out compensation that Sac agreed to but we ended sending extra salary out in a different trade which meant we had less we were allowed to offer Bog. So they shopped ATL who was able to give him like 4M more a year then we were legally allowed to offer. No harm no foul as far as I am concerned, it ended up being a massive difference

I recall hearing Bog wanted to back out once we traded for Jrue. Supposedly he wasn’t keen on being the 4th option. Bog’s agent leaked the deal so he could get out of the gentleman’s agreement.

Nope, it was the NBA caving to Riley, Ainge, LBJ and a few others who were crying about it. The story we eventually got was Bledsoe was originally in the SAC deal so Bogs was going to have a higher starting salary. Him worrying about being anything more than a 4th option wouldn't make sense since at best, he would've been a 3rd option in ATL but likely still 4th.

Not anticipating much news beyond a Bobby extension at this point. Would like to add another combo guard like Delon Wright in free agency, but wouldn't surprise me if we just end up re-signing Carter, converting/guaranteeing some minor contracts, and call it a day. You're already at 10-11 guaranteed roster spots with drafting Beauchamp and a Bobby extension. Hopefully Wes comes back on the vet minimum:

Jrue/Carter/Hill/Vildoza
Grayson/Pat/Beauchamp/Tucker
Middleton/Wes
Giannis/Thanasis/Mamu
Brook/Bobby

Ideally, probably waive both Rayjon and Luca to open up two roster spots for ring-chasers. Only other move I'd pursue would be attaching a 2nd rounder to Hill and dumping him for a back-up big like Muscala.

I can’t see Bogdan’s agent being the leak.

It would have been easy enough to renege behind the scenes without all that drama.

Rather after the Lasry’s let it slip in their exuberance after mixed initial reports about the Holiday trade (both to Woj and at that league-wide owners meeting), then Bogdan’s team learned of the Hawks offer, and used it as an excuse to back out — especially since the money and minutes were at least slightly different than the original deal.

Atlanta in turn was a primary competitor for Jrue. Sure they wanted Bogdan and post-Holiday had some extra minutes and resources to allocate. But they also had some motivation to stick it to the Bucks as well.

Hard no on Rose because his salary is $14m and he's older and injury prone. The exact opposite of what I want.

There's definitely something going on with Christian Wood that NBA teams dont like. At his size and skillset, a team would have wanted to lock him up long term by now (and kept him) if that weren't the case. It smells like a locker room thing.

I don't even think it's fair to compare those guys to David Lee. Lee was an All-Star with two separate clubs and was at least a willing passer even if he was also a defensive sieve. Wood and Collins are absolute black holes on offense, and the persistent rumors of Collins being upset over his role the last 2 years straight should probably be a pretty big red flag, as is the lukewarm trade market for him. He's not getting 16-20 shots a game here, and if he is, that's a detriment and overall net-negative to your team.
