His last HS basketball season was at the same basketball academy Shaedon Sharpe last played basketball at. They played against some of the best players in the nation (they beat Jalen Green’s team and Bronny that year). He just transferred back home after the season ended.

I feel that his midranger isn't mentioned enough. When our offense stagnates it is always good to have the option to set a screen and have someone able to hit a jumper or floater off the dribble. Midds was always reliable in this role until he was injured. It is important skill in playoff basketball. I hope that Bud will not discourage him from this shot, just for "analytics"

Honestly, just watch him shoot jumpers and it'll make you feel a lot better about his potential to become a plus distance guy. Part of the reason I did an about-face on him as a prospect. Off the dribble he's surprising consistent, sets his feet, and the follow through mechanics are solid. Definitely a lot to work with here.

Yeah, he has a lot to work with. I think he was about 39% from 3 on C&S in the half-court. I want to see him set his base a bit more consistently off the bounce and speed it up, but pretty much every prospect has to speed up parts of their shot.

As many here like his D potential... well imo he can't do sh*t against Tatum or Brown . I hope I am wrong but most likely I am not. JT and Brown are bigger, faster & stronger. Same with Butler. He looks too slow to guard SGs and too weak to guard SFs. He looks similar to Khris on D. He can guard almost nobody. Hope I am wrong.

Got to keep it positive, it is all about what he could become. As others mentioned lets of tools there and work ethic seems to be a Jared Dudley 'grinder' type.

His unusual path might be the only reason he was available vs. going to a college and getting more exposure.

Would have loved to hear Fotis' scouting report on Matisse Thybulle pre-draft:

"Have confidence he can get buckets against NBA talent. Can he stay on the court and not be exposed on defense? I have my doubts...."

Yeah, I've seen way worse shooting forms before (Kidd Gilchrist), his is fine and he has a fairly quick release. He just needs to work on maybe raising his release point and not shoot from in front of his face/forehead. But that's not a major shot reconstruction. The more I see of his highlights the more I think it was a sneaky solid pick.

I initially voted C, but would likely bump it to a B. There's a lot to like here from a plausible developmental track.

I'll put this into the ether. The guy he reminds me of coming out of the draft is Kawhi Leonard. Kawhi took an outlier developmental path, but he has a lot of similarities with San Diego State Leonard.

I thought some of his movement reminded me of Kawhi, but I didn't feel like being the one to bring up that name and have to deal with blowback. That little hesitation dribble looks very Kawhi.

You may have something, as far as aesthetics go. He does sort of move like a young Kawhi. Hell, if he turns into a Mykal Bridges type this pick is a home-run.
