Doesn't need to be young or a defensive wizard. Just needs to make shots. Thats it

Lots of miles on his legs, so if his shooting begins to drop off, what kind of player are you left with?

He'll be with Nesmith and Hauser this year, dropping advise and probably not adding too many miles on those legs. He just needs to stay in shape and ready for the playoffs. Give the young guys minutes during the reg season.

Maybe JB is finally just getting tired of Bos fans and media members always wanting to trade him. The guy puts in work every summer and is always improving. He wants and care about winning yet he always hear his name in trade rumors. He’s only human I bet you would feel and do the same thing if you were 25 year old JB hearing fans and guys like Scal saying wanting to ship you for a 34 year old.

I honestly do think they're going to try to get KD. Mark Murphy not denying it tells you that.

If I'd had to guess, I'd still say JB would re-sign (unless the C's win a ring) but he'll consider other options and that means you gotta try for KD imo

I've got the ESPN coverage on. I don't get why they don't talk about the signings as they happen. Yesterday they even had a count down on for the time deals would start rolling in, and they SHUT DOWN at 6pm on the dot instead of covering the deals.

Being in trade rumors is part of the gig....especially when you are young and talented and play for an organization that has championship or bust mentality. Part of this thing in the nba is hearing your name in trades and also being criticized when you play bad.
Tatum has dealt with the same stuff. Smart with the same stuff. Horford we let walk. It’s part of the territory.

Him wanting to test free agency is him having the power and flexibility to do what he wants and be where he wants. All of these guys are human stop with the sob story ****. Lol

The years on the deal clearly don't matter anymore. See Ben Simmons and Kevin Durant.

Not sure if mentioned already, but failing other TPE options, I'd try to get Justin Holiday from the Pacers. $6.3M expiring for another tall-ish ballhandler who can shoot. Took 60+% of his shots from beyond the arc each of the last four seasons. Like Gallo, he's made 500+ threes in that span but "only" at 37.3%.

I would be legitimately shocked if JB wasn’t on the table. It’s not me hating Jaylen, but KD is that guy.

I think it’ll come down to what else Brooklyn wants.

I’d bet Rob will be a nasty negotiation point.

Lol what else do you need to see through his age 23 season? An MVP?

The NBA has been around for 75 years. To be a top 25 player you have to be pretty amazing. I don't think it's outlandish to say that the odds are against anyone being a top 25 player ever. Even just today he's got Jokic, Luka, Embiid, Ja, Zion(if he gets in shape), and new guys coming in ever year to contend with. Those are just guys around his age.

He could be a top 25 guy all time but to put him in the same breath as Jordan, Bird, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, or any of those guys and say we're all set because we have Tatum, Brown, and Timelord as some kind of analog to Bird/Parish/McHale, Jordan/Pippen, Duncan/Parker/Ginobili is asinine. Even being a top 25 player of all time doesn't put him on the level of those top guys I just named. Durant gives you a chance to have a legit top 15 player at the end of his prime paired with Tatum.

Jaylen is absolutely the most well liked Celtics player by fans, by a fair amount at that. He was just the obvious guy with trade rumors over the years.

Who gives a **** what the media says?

He was/is going to test free agency regardless, because it’s very possibly his one max deal.

He's on the Kings from the Sabonis trade. I like him as a target, but Kings trying to make playoffs so I don't think they'd move him for a paltry return. And he isn't worth more than a paltry return.

If he were still on IND he'd be a good target.

Interesting! I like Bryant just fine as Horford/Williams insurance. He'd be a good option to Theis, depending on the match up.

I hope this one pans out and he doesn't run to LA (how many **** roster spots do they have?!?)

Otherwise, I'm keeping an eye on Kagengele in summer league to earn a spot. Then again, I had high expectations for Bruno Fernando too.

I've now convinced myself to sign Gallo for the MLE, trade for Justin Holiday with the Juancho TPE, then sign LMA for the minimum.

Smart | Brown | Tatum | Horford | Timelord
White | Pritchard | Holiday | Grant | Theis
Thomas | Nesmith | Hauser | Morgan | LMA

Fitts and Davison for the two-ways?

EDIT: If Warren is healthy, he's cool too.

If he's a minimum guy I love taking a chance because there are tools. If he's getting the MLE though, that's terrible. He's a legitimately awful basketball player. Probably the worst defensive big in the game. His shooting percentage makes people go ga-ga but he only takes wiiiiiiiide open threes and every other game he'll make one.

We can't afford to use one of our few ways to improve by taking a flier on a player that sucks.

Thomas Bryant is not a Klutch client so we might have a shot to sign him.

Keith Smith in his FA rankings:
"Thomas Bryant – Washington Wizards (unrestricted): Bryant is coming off what was seen as one of the best value deals in the NBA. Had he shown more in his return from tearing his ACL in 2020, Bryant might be in line for another good contract. Now, he’s probably playing somewhere on a prove-it deal next season."

Minimum sure is a "prove-it deal". Wonder if Theis isn't involved in some kind of trade talks if we're looking at Bryant.
