Dubs deluded fans into thinking title windows still exist.
Why do you think you'd get 3 years of KD? I'd be shocked if his next team has him for 3 years.
I brings the ruckus to the ladies!

That's assuming he has a say in the destination. Brad won't trade JB++ for him without talking through back channels. We're a well-run org without a diva like Kyrie (or another strong ego/personality like Westbrook). High chance of winning a title as the clear #1 unlike in GSW. Of course you never say never, but I see no reason for him to leave once paired with Tatum.

Why stop with the 10 year window? It is actually possible and the odds of Brown staying are greater than 50%. It is nearly 100% certain that KD is past his peak and will not be here 5 years from now let alone 10. The 3-4 first round picks we give up to get him have a chance to be here 10 years from now too.
I’m not completely opposed to bringing KD here and taking a shot like we did in 2007 but that 2007 team’s young talent was going nowhere fast and the only good asset on that team was already 30. KD is not over the hill but we saw this season he is not at its peak either and the down slope is clearly in the front view windshield.
I don’t see the logic in blowing up our young core to sell out for a chance to win one title because if we trade Brown for KD it’s one and done at best and little to no chance to add quality talent for 3 years. Unless the front office is 100% convinced Brown will bail the way Brunson did….you can’t make this trade.
I’ll be honest though….if this trade happens I will be over the top excited for next season…..no denying it even though winning it with KD will feel cheap.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Because 10 year windows rarely happen particularly in today’s nba climate. It’s just silly.

Well, if you do manage to trade Brown/White for KD you still have a Smart/Brogdon as guards, Tatum/Durant wings and RW/Horford bigs with Grant/Gallo/PP bench. Not saying I want it…..but that leaves room for a longer window as the inevitable Durant decline continues.

I'm starting to come around to the idea of a team featuring Brogdon, Tatum, and Durant. I guess my main concern is do we really want 2 of our 3 best players to have to be load managed?

So
Smart
Brogdon
Tatum
Durant
Timelord
with
Pritchard
Grant Williams
Gallinari
Horford
As risky as KD will seem, he is more of a surefire path to a title than Brown is. I love Brown but the truth is it is conceivable that a title will be more likely with Durant there.
Pickup someone like Rondo and Thomas Bryant and I think we are complete.

Yeah I still don’t do it but getting Brogdon for nothing makes me think about it more. Don’t trust his health enough though.

No to KD.
I'm not a fan of superstar type players they chase rings or demand trades. We agreed to sign a contract. Fulfill your contract.
This guy isn't a Celtic. He is a bad character. He will leave this team at a drop of a hat like Kyrie did.

KD's not coming to Boston so this, while interesting, is kind of moot. He will have a say and there's a handful of teams he'd rather join.

Re: Poll: would you trade JB for KD?
I would trade JB for a 31 relatively uninjured KG on a fairly reasonable contract for aging superstar but I wouldn't trade him for a soon to be 34 KD post achilles on a very expensive contract.
KD's struggles to maintain his efficiency on offense vs the Celtics can be explained somewhat by the defensive attention they placed on him but his defense is already suffering as well.
So while it is true that this Celtics team doesn't have a "10 year window", odds are the actual 1-5 year window that they may have with the right moves are better served without KD.

The question is do you back Boston in its current shape vs say a Miami team with KD, Butler and Bam for example. For the next 3-4 seasons.

KD's struggles amounted to 26-5.8-6.3 on .528 TS%, even as the defensive attention on him allowed the Nets to score 109 ppg on .610 TS%.
If KD's production declines by 10% every season starting 2021-22 (a very pessimistic outlook considering he had one of his most productive seasons in several years), we are looking at 27 ppg, 24.5 ppg, 22 ppg for KD in the next three seasons, basically ending up with your average Jaylen Brown season in the final year of the contract.

People gonna regret not trading for KD when he adds the Lakers to his list and they wind up getting #18 before we do.

now that I've thought about it some more, trading JB for KD makes less sense than trading Tatum for KD. Wouldn't KD and Tatum be too duplicative? They both play nearly the same exact game and position i.e. ISO, jump shooters at the 3/4 with some playmaking but almost as a last resort and good/great defense. At least with JB you get some slashing to the basket, the ability to guard smaller wings , moving without the ball (at least the idea of it anyway) and better finishing at the rim.

It would be a little too duplicative to have two Top 10 players at the same time. Maybe it makes sense to keep the top 40-50 guy so everyone has a niche.
Seriously though, why do people say Jaylen is more of a slasher or that he moves without the ball? He doesn't. He drives to the basket fewer times per game than Tatum and is less successful at it. Almost half of his 2 pointers and over 3/4 of his 3 pointers are assisted. He takes almost 5 FGA per game on catch and shoot opportunities.

Re: Poll: would you trade JB for KD?
I voted no, not because of JB, but because of Tatum. Right or wrong, we gave him the keys to the castle from day 1. Acquire Durant,, he has to give those keys back.. It could possibly work, I just think you greatly diminish Tatum if you park him in JBs spot in the corner down the stretch.
Overall roster is better, I'm just not sure the sum of the parts works as well.
