If you package those two with Duncan Robinson, That is a max contract player we can go after at that time. Imagining a scenario of a 3 team mega trade between Brooklyn, Utah and Miami. Brooklyn gets Gobert and Duncan, Miami gets KD and Mitchell and Utah gets Tyler and Ben Simmons. Dipo and Dedmon goes to whoever will absorb them. and as many picks and expiring contracts that can be gathered to start their rebuild. A lot can change by December but interesting nonetheless.

not saying KD isn't spineless but there is a degree to sinking ships
KD's biggest mistake was leaving OKC for Golden State, had he moved on to any other team I think he's looked at much differently.
I have to believe the biggest reason for him leaving is that he just didn't want to play with Westbrook anymore because that offseason OKC was really set up to upgrade greatly. OKC was prepared to move Ibaka to free up the PF position to sign Horford(who pivoted after KD left and signed with Boston) and they were adding Oladipo (2 way SG to upgrade over Robertson, Oladipo wasn't a scorer at that point) and Sabonis (to develop behind Horford). So to me KD is just jumping ship with as much smoke as their is for a Kyrie for expiring Westbrook and assets move.
I think KD would have gotten a ring in OKC had he stayed and he would have been able to move on after that and had his respect and was happy but he didn't. Westbrook, Oladipo, KD, Horford, Adams with Sabonis on the bench is a championship level squad.
I personally think KD would want to stay in Brooklyn but Brooklyn has to try to get some value out of Kyrie for the future and sadly it's probably going to be for Westbrook + assets from LA.

Pg: Mitchell / Vincent
Sg: Strus / Oladipo

Cc: Yurtseven / Dedmon
I just like the makeup of that team. We'd have to work on Yurt's and Mitchell's defense, but Bam could roam if they're even remotely capable, and our offense would be better. I'd also really like our depth.

KD will be traded long before then.
