If you package those two with Duncan Robinson, That is a max contract player we can go after at that time. Imagining a scenario of a 3 team mega trade between Brooklyn, Utah and Miami. Brooklyn gets Gobert and Duncan, Miami gets KD and Mitchell and Utah gets Tyler and Ben Simmons. Dipo and Dedmon goes to whoever will absorb them. and as many picks and expiring contracts that can be gathered to start their rebuild. A lot can change by December but interesting nonetheless.
The contract that Oladipo signed is a no trade contract, if he had any thought he'd be traded why wouldn't he have went to a team he wanted to go to now vs being sent somewhere he might not want to go and possibly wouldn't get to play hurting his next contract.
Also, Oladipo's can waive his no trade contract somewhere in January but why would he unless the new team has the cap space to sign him(not sure his Bird Rights transfer with a 1 year deal).
He's staying for sure. I think Dipo got the deal partly because of Durant talks. The Heat FO probably knew about Durant before news leaked. If Nets insist on Bam with Herro then we need to take Simmons back. Then only way to make numbers work is including Lowry. So we'd loose two backcourt players then you can't go and loose Oladipo as well.
