He’d probably ask for a trade the next day. If anything it’d make more sense to replace SGA & Dort with Chet & Giddy.

Celtic fans are thrilled with their trade for Brogdon . . . I remember Knick fans not wanting him due to him being injury prone. He's a good player when healthy.

Anyhoo . . . I love this time of year. Fun to watch the movement.

Knick fans weren’t happy with the idea of giving up the 11th pick in a package for him.. the Celtics for him for basically nothing

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Celtics gave the Pacers cap space. Cap space has value.

Not discounting Garland because he is talented, but it just seems like every 3-4 year player is expected to command a 180M+ contract. Goodness.

The salary cap is tied to NBA revenue, which keeps going up. Max deals are tied to that as well. The numbers seem crazy but I think the NBA has one of the better systems in place. Smaller market teams, if they hit a home-run in the draft and are well managed can put together a few titles. It's not like baseball where small market teams often can't afford their home grown players.

I never said otherwise, only that Boston got him cheap because the Pacers wanted cap space.

Chet has to stay so Durant, Chet and Poku can form the all skinny team

Darius Garland just got $193M/5 years. According to my calculations, that’s $38.6M per year.

Actually wasn’t my point but that is another valid arguement. Pacers won’t ever be a FA destination so cap space doesn’t really do much for them. My original point was mainly referring to how Brogdon really is a counterproductive piece for us. He’s about to turn 30, pretty much capped out on his overall potential, doesn’t fit with the young kids on our roster timeline and would be good enough to keep us a treadmill middle of the back team which is the worst place to be

I’d be willing to go up to $25M/yr.

Cavs went from they are rebuilding the right way to they got overpaid players in one day. You cant expect to win championships on rookie scale contracts, everyone eventually pays the piper

Return to New York Knicks
