I stand by my prediction...
We cut Miles
He get no jail time, maybe probation and community service or its settled out of court
League suspends him 20 to 50 games
He signs with Lakers on minimum 1 year deal
He's a starter on their playoff team in the spring
NBA and affiliated TV acts like it never happened when the Lakers and Miles are on TV.
Lakers fans have amnesia because he's good
Next summer, he gets paid
Klutch never drops him as a client
It's all an insult to his wife and kid
And the Hornets get screwed like always

I think he gets 1 year, and teams don't sign him for a while, and he comes back on a small contract a couple seasons from now. The evidence and the fact it happened in front of his little kids is damning

The only way I could be even madder about this is if it was the Heat, who get the 1 seed, and then Miles knocks us out after scrapping our way to the 8 seed against all odds without him, and Miles gets added to the list of "Miami Heat reclamation projects"

That's not happening. He will be gone for a year minimum and if he does come back I do not think it will be on some high-profile team.

Agreed, the Warriors have standards. The Lakers on the otherhand are a different story.

I've said what I've had to say about the domestic violence (and other) issues, but I guess I'm moving through the stages of grief and was thinking earlier how we will basically never hear Eric Collins with another of his "MILES ... BRIDGES!!!" calls after an emphatic dunk or alley oop from LaMelo. Bridges was a regular on Plays of the Night and kept the Hornets on highlight shows and stuff like that and was a big part of turning around our image and having people look at us one of the more exciting up-and-coming teams in the league.

And now that's all over.

So reckless and stupid...

This. This right here. I told my wife basically the same thing as all this unfolded in the news. I fully expect a team like the Lakers or Heat that doesn't gaf about what Bridges did to sign him on a cheap 1 year deal. He will play great for them because he's a good to very good player. After this upcoming season he gets a big fat contract.

This won't be brought up during games. He will be a redemption story. The Hornets will be the evil team that heartlessly turned their backs on Bridges in his time of need. So when the Hornets and our fans get screwed by losing an All Star talent for NOTHING it will be packaged in the media as "this is why you stand by your player".

If it wasn't the Hornets it would be the Hawks this would happen to. Small market teams do the right thing only to see a team that only cares about winning swoop in and get a good talent for nothing. It is disgusting.

My honest guess are the Heat or the Lakers. If the Heat give up a lot for Durant why here's poor misunderstood Bridges looking for a one year deal.

Who has ever had a redemption story from domestic violence? I'm sorry but that's completely idiotic. This will be a black mark against him forever.

The more details released, the more I hope Bridges gets a full 10 years. His size alone and the results of his actions are almost enough to warrant much more serious charges other than just Domestic Violence.

If Kaepernick never saw an NFL field again over a simple knee…nor should Bridges ever see a court again. He wasn’t even smart enough to secure his bag before such horrible behavior. And this explains a lot about our team’s immaturity last year.

You could definitely see some cracks around the edges with the way we handled player development AS people. Hopefully this is a wake up call for the organization.

Oh, it can happen. Unless Silver hands down a year-long ban, or the league quietly comes to a gentleman's agreement to do that without the official press release, Miles will be on a roster at some point this season.

He has quite a few advantages working in his favor. He's rich and has no prior history so he has a good shot at not doing any time. Not doing jail time helps his chances of reducing the ban to something punitive (25-50 games) but not season ending. He's a Klutch client so that will be a big help unless they drop him. They'll get him on the Lakers for the minimum for their playoff push at absolute worst.

The NBA has glossed over all sorts of criminality when it suits them, and their commitment to social justice is in all reality a mile wide but an inch deep. The public has the memory of a goldfish, in 8 months this will not be on their radar unless reminded. If Miles Bridges is in LA this May and it looks like the league is on a collision course with a Lakers/Celtics Finals featuring Lebron you can bet your ass his 'redemption' and 'maturation' will be mentioned during broadcasts.

Society is just sick like that, especially when giant egos are in competition as is the case in all of pro sports. At this point whether Miles plays or not comes down whether the league smacks him with a season-long ban imo. Ensuring this doesn't all get forgotten in nine months is also kinda why I'd rather the Hornets keep him on the QO. In a **** up way it's the best insurance against an unscrupulous contender saving his ass if the league doesn't have the guts to make a hard stand on this case.

That’s my stance. Keep his rights hostage to block another team from taking advantage of our horrible situation. There’s plenty of scum bag teams out there who wouldn’t think twice about adding him to their already stacked rosters for cheap at our expense. Make that as difficult as possible. We won’t need to pay him anyway as long as he’s suspended.

Wish the NBA could allow us to dump him but also retain his rights so when another team signs him they have to at least give us an asset. Don't care if it's just another second round pick. Something, anything.

Miles is an exciting player and he took a massive leap in ability on the offensive end, but has a sub-par wingspan and has never been a great defender. As a wing you have to be a two-way player if you want to be on a winning team. He was always going to limit how good the team could be on the defensive end.

The problem of course is good two-way wings are really hard to find. You either have to spend a fortune on them in a trade (or free agency if you're lucky) or you have to take a leap of faith for an unproven player (i.e. the draft). Now would be a good time to take a bit of a risk to potentially find a two-way wing to replace Miles and/or Hayward. If I were Kupchak I'd call up New Orleans and offer to take back Graham and send them the DEN 1st and Oubre if they're willing to trade Daniels to us.

What series of actions, if any, would miles have to take in order for you to welcome him back to the Hornets?
