We should get some clarity in the next 24 hrs

Or he was never a part of the proposed deals to begin with. Perhaps the team included an additional swap or something rather than his rights.

I guess we’ll see…hopefully soon, we need to make some moves. Right now, we have no starting 4 and a lot of bench question marks.

Trades are fluid and Miami barely has enough assets... You would not risk signing a rookie over getting a deal done for KD or DM... I think you keep your options open until the last minute in case the team makes a last minute request.. either a trade already has been agreed upon or we are out and moving forward with other options that we are confident with can complete without having to include Jovic

Miami can still use Jovic in a trade, they can agree to the framework of that trade and just finalize it on 8/2.

Cavs did it with Wiggins if I recall correctly.

My guess?

Kyrie is Lakers bound for Westbrooks expiring and whatever trash LAL can bundle together between picks and “young talent”. BKN negotiate a buyout with WB.

Durant to Phoenix. Ayton, Bridges, Johnson and picks to Brooklyn.

We’ll get movement after the 4th. Some big splashes are usually reserved for after the holiday. I just hope we have someone left worth while to sign after the dust settles. Right now we have Yurt starting with Bam but Spo will go Highsmith and we’ll have Ariza and Harkless at the 4 all over again. If we start anyone 6’7 and under or weighing in at anywhere under 230 i’m going to lose my chit. I don’t need to be lectured on how great small ball is either.

Well, at least you know what to expect. You can lose little bits of chit over time now instead of losing all your chit at once.

With Kyrie at least you're able to account for fit and need. With Russ you're just throwing a wrench into the gears.

Lakers are getting Kyrie and Curry or Harris for Westbrook accordingly to the article

Not shocking at all. I’ve been calling Lakers since day one of this mess. Westbrook’s contract will be either traded again or he plays with Brooklyn. They have no reason to tank.

Pretty sure that Phoenix package is illegal. Since Ayton is a S&T I don’t Think they can add those other pieces. And Brooklyn doesn’t really want Ayton

Phoenix best bet is to find a team that wants Ayton and to flip those pieces with Johnson and Bridges for Durant

If they get Curry they make out like absolute bandits. My guess is they relent and take Harris. It’s still a steal no matter which way you slice it.

Irving
?
Harris
James
Davis

Still a contender, even with the question marks.
