Ainge would get a decade worth picks/swaps out of them.

I’m surprised people are saying this is a good deal for the Lakers. Adding a single pick for Kyrie is a fail.

Simmons a actually a very deferential player. Playing with an Apha type like Westbrick may help. It might actually unlock his roll game. … or maybe it will be awful…..

Can you run a pick and roll if both defenders just sit in the paint?

Probably not but Simmons could theoretically open up some interesting passing options.

Desperate? We’ve resisted the Wall rumors, the Hornets rumors, the Knicks rumors, etc…Pelinka made it clear they have no intention of giving up a first round pick in any of those garbage offers. Kryie is a different animal altogether, well worth the risk.

Then the Nets should simply hang up the phone. There's no point in taking on Westbrooke if the net result for them is the same as keeping Irving. The Lakers want Irving and don't want another wasted year with LeBron and AD? Great, Pay the kings ransom or go ahead and keep Westbrook.

I think ultimately - and unfortunately for Lakers - there will be team desperate enough to take Kyrie in contract year, and ready to outbid Lakers, so I wouldn't get attach that much to these rumors.

Kyrie's on court production is better than Westbrooks right now.

But I'm not sure if the Lakers should give up a first for that (so I tend to agree with you).

It's amazing how everybody here always views this from the Lakers viewpoint. If you havent been following basketball for the past few days, the Nets are also desperate to get Kyrie off that team. The scorched earth negotiation stance youre taking where nobody gets what they want is ridiculous here.

Kai is gonna be a Laker because 29 other teams in the league dont want him. If you guys are upset about that, be angry at your own teams for not making an offer.

What will help is Kyrie wants to get paid so will need to be on his best behavior

It was fun for the Lakers to be a complete joke for a year, but I hope they can cobble together a roster who can at least make things interesting.

I’m guessing LA agreed to 2 picks which is why they are pushing for Curry over Harris.

That would be an overpay. Well maybe not if you get Curry - but still a lot

doubt it. the nets want to get rid of irving just as bad as the lakers want to get rid of westbrook. heck maybe even more.
