We did not unload a single one of them so far, but we did add a legit PG
They used our journeyman vets and picks to engineer this so far
That doesn’t mean they won’t package some of our youth in a future deal, but I think the implications so far is the franchise may finally be committed to sustaining a pipeline of developing players
Several of our youths are going to have very good and long NBA careers. In the past they would have been gone already, but they’re still here
So things are not the Same Old Same Old as past FO’s so far. There are differences if you stop bitching for a moment and pay attention to things as they actually are
Some of you guys love to pretend the Knicks FO didn't just have to unload future assets to get rid of the horrible contracts they just signed last year. If you take a minute to think about that, you'll realize how bad that really is. How some of you can defend that is beyond me. Plus they traded out of the last two drafts, which was our only opportunity to get some young talented players in the lottery.
Also, they signed Randle a year before they had to, and gave Fournier a bag too. Those two are also negative assets.
I can guarantee you this.. in 2-3 years we'll have threads about the players we could have drafted the past two years but we decided to punt. There WILL be a few future stars that were taken in draft slots that could have been ours.
I'm not complaining about Brunson. I actually think it's a pretty good signing. But to pretend the FO didn't completely f*ck sh*t up last year, and then had to try to correct their mistakes this year is just as bad as some of us complaining about every move they make. Be real man, this FO is way below average across the NBA. We're still LOL Knicks, if you haven't noticed.
