I just don’t understand to be honest.

Yea we are waiting on a trade. But we have the 6.5 whether we make a trade or not. Fill they spot with talent and still attempt to do the unlikely via trade.
But just don’t sit.

Brooklyn is adding players when this is going on.

LMAO well played.

But Boston, the team that beat them in the playoffs, got better.

Agree let’s cut the bs use the tpmle or trade to find a starting 4 and “act” as if Tyler herro and co will stay on the team

If and when Brooklyn or utah or Portland want to talk we ready

It should have taken priority 1 over everything.

If a star is available you always check in on that first, the 4s we were likely to be looking at on the trade market are still all out there.

We are going after the trade, as I agree we should.

But why not add a TPLE PF in the meantime? No trade, this guy starts. Trade, we have some depth.

Tucker did a ton for us and Caleb Martin won’t cut it. I like Caleb as depth, not as a starting forward.

When is Simmons guarding 5s or playing big? How are his screens and rebounding?

Hey friend!! Simmons is actually good at screens and rebounding. Can defend smaller 5s decent enough. Guys like Jokic, Giannis, Embiid are gonna kill him though.

So Simmons is really a 1-4 defender, when he doesn't have a broken back.

Defending "1-5" is becoming a BS narrative people pump about defenders when it's only true for a small handful of players in the league (and Marcus Smart is really NOT one of them).

Further on simmons, he hasn't proven to have much of an appetite to do much big man work, which is part of the problem with him (among many other things). Just as a basis of comparison, in Simmons last healthy season he averaged 1.6 screen assists per game (compared to 4.7 for Bam in that same season). Part of that is role, but I'm VERY suspect of Simmons suddenly becoming an ego-less team player taking on the brunt of the big man work on a team.

I think Bam becomes truly elite when we take him off the big man responsibilities and slide him to the 4. I theorize that our defense would actually be better for it as well as we save some of Bam's energy so it can be redirected on punishing people who sag off him or put their pg on him because they feel he is not a threat unless he's directly next to the rim.

Who's being quoted here? This seems like something any of a number of posters on here would say just because the Nets traded for Royce O'Neal.

I agree Caleb isn't a starter but who is the guy we've missed out on in free agency to fill that void? I wasn't interested in Gallinari at all since he does not defend, TJ Warren was also a popular name here but he hasn't even played much the last two seasons.

I bet the biggest hold up in talks with Utah is what to do about Lowry

They already have Conley and Beverly on the Roster so really going to need to find someone to get him off our hands

Thanks for sharing. So to add needed context to the following tweet:

So this is the whole of what Shams said on Durant having requested a trade out of BKN:

“From everything I’m told, that stance has not changed. There’s been no signal he’s going to back off of that. If anything, that stance is expected to continue throughout this offseason . . . but on the other hand the Nets are making free agency moves as if Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are returning next season”.

Goes back to the question of how much leverage KD has. I know he's under contract, but under what pretense was he brought aboard and what will he do to ensure he has his way.

Almost reminds me of Miami signing McBob and Granger in hopes to show LeBron we're improving the team before he bolted.

Watchout I get it, but I kinda liked ICC's updates. Even though nothing came to fruition, atleast some effort was put into it. Nothing different from Adam or NotAdam or any of the 5 reasons guys who keep tweeting like they are privy to inside info.
