If we somehow traded Fournier for Brunson I will gladly give Leon his flowers.

I kind of want to keep DRose to be a mentor. Same with Taj. Problem is Thibs will play them over the kids instead of letting them be the mentors they’re best suited for, and DRose as your 5th guard is a nice luxury to have.

A note with the free-agency moratorium officially done: The Knicks could not turn the Isaiah Hartenstein acquisition into a sign-and-trade because the Clippers were capped on how much they could pay him. As for Jalen Brunson becoming a S&T, we don’t know until we know.- Fred Katz

Sounds like that signing is official so maybe there is a sign and trade in the works with Dallas

Moving Rose opens up minutes needed for IQ/Grimes/Cam. That's if they believe IQ is a PG. Moving Evan doesn't help as much but, it opens up minutes for two of the three.

I don't care anymore. I am willing to wait until the deadline unless a good deal comes along. I think the team is in no rush because of their plan. They will need some matching salaries to go out in their disgruntled star trade that they are clearly banking on at some point.

So....we will have depth if nothing else changes with the roster. The only question remaining is...does Taj come back too. There is still an open spot to fill IIRC.

If we send them some combination of Randle, Fournier or Rose they could. These are not garbage players we are talking here. They are a better team with some combo of these guys.

2 of Rose, Randle, or Evan make them a much better team. Rose replaces Brunson ...Randle becomes a complement power forward for Luka or Evan as a 3 pt specialist for them. It all depends on how they see their ideal roster construction.

Lol these are players who all can score and Randle can defend and rebound too. He might play great next to Luka...the Mavs have little flexibility in FA and this would give them a great avenue to improve. Of course Rose would give them a great off the bench PG and semi replacement for JB...Dunno but if Cuban isnt holding grudges I think we are a great match for a S&T that would further benefit both clubs.

Don't know 4 sure.... but it does kinda feel like the stage is set up real nice for 2 of 3 of those players to go back to Dallas and for one of Bullock/Finney coming back to us.

DMitch/Grimes/IQ
(Bullock or Finney) /Melo/Grimes
Obi Toppin/Bullock/Cam/Hartenstein

I have a vague recollection of those two actually looking decent in Utah before they came here to die. Shandon in particular had some wild misses shooting the ball in a Knicks uni.
