As scorer he’s decent but that’s it . Will get minute over Poole?

Moody isn't just a scorer. He does whatever is asked of him. He had to score a lot this game because no one else was doing anything.

Duren as a HS Senior aged freshman anchored a top 25 defense in the NCAA at Memphis while doubling Sims senior season block and assist rates. I think he's in a much higher class of player than Sims, he had plenty of flashes as a short roll passer, started flashing mid range and short range jumpers in the 2nd half of the season as well, when Memphis went on that 12-1 run to end the season

I still think Rob Williams is his best comp

Rob was an elite defender the second he took a step on the college court and he did that in one of the best conferences in the country. No one would consider Duren an elite defender last year. Memphis was the 33rd ranked defense and a big reason for that was the fact they had a huge talent gap over the majority of their conference.

Yes Sims is an exaggeration on my point. But my main point still stands, the vast majority of Duren’s game is solely based off of athleticism. His awareness, positioning, and just overall basketball IQ is very low. When you take away the highlight couple blocks, you see him out of position all of the time and getting beat by not making good rotations. And offensively he is pretty much just a lob threat and nothing more.

100% agree on Duren looking lost defensively. It was bad last night.

100% disagree on him being just a lob threat. He already sees the floor better than a lot of non-handling bigs, and his turnaround and middie look like very comfortable shots.

He did look a bit lost defensively that game, but I actually thought he was pretty proficient in that area in the NCAA, particularly in the 2nd half of the season

He literally had no practices with the team before the tip off last night, I wouldn't read too much into that performance

As for the offense, I agree. Even last night he made a couple of nice passes in limited minutes. One was a nicely placed hit ahead pass on the break, this was the other

That’s a really good comparison although TJ had more of a mid range game as a rookie. TJ with a 3 was a really good player before he got hurt. I think Keegan looked like a legit NBA player - you never know with summer league but he looked worthy of a #4 pic
k last night. Santos is a crafty player but I would be surprised if his stuff would work against veteran NBA bigs in the paint.

To me he looks like a taller granger

This dudes talent was obvious. I was screaming on the Knicks board for us to take him @11.. The question should be why didn't the other ~10 teams below 21 make this pick?

He's really bad defensively.

I disagree, why?

Kenneth Lofton, Jr? Like, the son of Kenny Lofton, the MLB All-Star?

People said the same thing about Anthony Randolph when he dropped 42 in summer league.

Randolph is not in the league, but his a good player.

1. Kenneth Lofton Jr. is an absolute tank, people don't appreciate how strong he is.

2. The night before (back-to-back), Chet Holmgren had a dominant performance. There are going to be a lot of highs and lows, with Chet Holmgren's rookie season.

Who cares about defense when he's a liability on offense at that position? Anyways I'm sure you've ran this simulation in your head. Maybe you're right and it'll work, I just don't see how Suggs at the 2 is going him any justice.
Eventually, I think Suggs will be the starting PG. For this season Fultz has a big contract. I could still see Suggs averaging around 17/4/5 this season.

Agreed. I still think Suggs at the 1 is the way to maximize his potential. But he has work to do still obviously with his shooting, but for me it's refining his handle and finishing at this rim with more consistency.
i think shooting should come first. His handles, later. Paolo is a high usage
Guy, all suggs has to do is hit the open jumpers and bring the ball down halfcourt properly.

NBA.com has become such a scrub site. Why is it such a hastle to just check summer league box scores, you would think they would be on a main page, right?

Any relation to the former baseball player on the team formerly known as the Cleveland Indians? That dude was an absolute monster
