Yeah, as long as we're not throwing picks in, I agree.

They will get a pick as well ...

But throwing in picks just to get Irving is more stupid than throwing in picks to get Turner/Hield ... That's way better offer.

Lakers shouldn't be throwing away picks in the Irving deal, just to please Bron and keep him happy - F Bron. Turner/Hield deal is better

I understand some of you guys don't like Lebron, but you make it sound like he's ordering the FO to get him his ice cream or something. They have a better chance of winning with Kyrie, who is probably looking for his final contract PLUS a shooter like Seth Curry IMO. hOwever, I understand why don't want to give that pick either and also I don't want to them to sign Kyrie long term.
I can't see the Lakers having a legit chance of winning it all, if they get Hield and Turner but btw Per Jorge Sedano of ESPN radio, Indiana actually are not interested in taking Westbrook and they believe they will get better offers from other teams if they unload their assets.

Kobe love this team and would not recommend Rob if he thinks this guy is too dumb to have any contingencies initial plans don’t materialize. When Kawhi tried to stiff him by making him wait, he went to work and signed 3&D players like Danny Green, KCP, Avery Bradley, Caruso to complement his superstars and it worked.

I agree. I'm not the biggest Pelinka fan, but I think he's at least alright. We may not have a back up plan. Seems like everyone wants to get picks out of us. It was Wall & pick(s).....and then they just waived him. So no....they didn't value Wall....they just figured they could get picks from the desperate Lakers. We're the guy at the bar who reeks of desperation.....we need to just chill.

If the Kyrie thing doesn't happen, then it doesn't happen. F** it, I say. They're not getting picks. I don't care if there's a different deal or not. We're done tossing picks in. If Nets want us to take Harris or Royce O'Neal's contract....fine.

Honestly, I don't think I even want Kyrie signed long-term. He's "unstable".....a fair way to put it. If Lebron walks, I certainly don't want Kyrie locked up. So I don't blame Rob or Jeanie at all if this falls apart, and he ends up at Miami, or whatever. In that case, we just get through another year with brick-boy, and then we part ways....but we keep our picks. Maybe trade them for something better.

Let the Nets deal with Kyrie. If he really wants to be a Laker, and holds strong....they'll come wanting to do fair business eventually. Until then, I think we look for other Westbrook deals....and I say we pull the trigger, should something decent come up.

Houston didn't value Wall like the Lakers didn't really value Westbrook right now. The previous Houston offer before the deadline was to include Christian Wood, a 18pt/10 reb guy who was later acquired by Dallas for the 26th pick and 4 other players, so they can save $ and at the same time develop their young players, and wink wink tank again.
I agree they shouldn't offer Kyrie a long term contract bec like you and many others here, I dont' trust the guy either, LONG term.
I also agree that they shouldn't give that FRP, but if they don't do anything, they waste the year on an aging Lebron and AD who is trying to get back to form. A rental Kyrie plus another shooter would give them a chance, without them they have ZERO chance IMO, unless they squeak by and their opponent's superstars get injured in the playoffs.

So why not do Westbrook/AD for Kyrie/Simmons? That way Brooklyn gets to keep KD and pair him with AD... Klutch doesn't lose a client in LA... Simmons gets to his ultimate destination... We get younger and move away from oft-injured AD, and AD gets to pair up with KD...

I’d do that. That’s a fair trade for both teams .
We’d need some more shooters on the team if that happens .

One thing to check on is Simmons’ back injury. Those are tough to recover from.

Just checked on the possibility of trading Simmons again and now it says he's got a Designated Vet restriction that runs through July 2023... So that's no longer an option apparently...

I am fine with Lebron. But he's decided not to sign an extension.....so forgive me if I don't wanna go along with his "plans".

His last plan was absolute garbage. And if he's not committing to us, then we aught not commit to him. And that goes triple for Kyrie. Lord only knows what his next impulse will be.

Well, i would imagine we have Lebron this season and then he'll sign a 1yr deal after that. But in 2024 i think Bronny James is eligible for the draft and i think Lebron either push for the lakers to get him - or sign with whatever team drafts him.

As for Kyrie - if we can get him in a Westbrook deal without giving up too much i think it's worth the risk.

Wow, absolute garbage, what plan is that exactly? Do you have an alternative plan to help this team in a much better position to succeed? I already said I understand that Rob not ready to give up those FRP's just like that.
Speaking of commitment, Can you honestly say you want a longer commitment from a 37 year old superstar who has garbage plans?
For me the worst situation is him signing a 3-4 year extension, then he coast, don't play defense and miss 40-60 games while getting paid 50 Mil/year, eating up those precious cap space... or pull a Paul George, signs a 4 year deal then request a trade from OKC, same with KD.

Lebron will sign the extension if we get Kyrie, I bet he will play that card very soon

Lakers don't win a ring without Lebron coming here and getting AD to want to come here

Team was garbage from 2013-2018, worst team in the league

Have you seen the moves Jeanie and Rob have made lately?

Letting AC walk and paying THT

Using a pick and Danny for Dennis and letting him walk

Not signing Reaves to a 3 year, so now we have to pay him next year or lose him. Cranjis dove into this, reason why we lost AC

Using the MLE for Reaves

Trading Zubac for Muscula

Yes Lebron AND AD (because he hated Dennis) asked for Russ instead of Hield, but I feel like Lebron wanted Derozan but we werent willing to give him a long term deal

This matches up with Jeanie being cheap and the Lakers wanting to be flexible once Lebron was done

Without Kyrie we will likely not even make the playoffs, maybe the play in if we stay pretty healthy

With Kyrie and one of Hield, Harris, Curry, and Richardson, we become contenders

Don't forget about them letting Brook Lopez walk for nothing, he later signed for a measly under 4 mil/year with the Bucks, but choosing to pay THT and letting Caruso walk but huge IMO, esp after trading away KCP and Kuz.
What is making everything worse was the compromise Jeannie between Lebron and Klutch.
Jeannie wanted to keep the payroll as manageable as possible. Not sure what is going on with her fianances but the cost saving measures that is affecting their chances of improving are pretty obvious, from not signing assistants, with HC experience, not taking on long term contracts etc.
She wants to keep Lebron to sell tickets and maximize revenue, so she needs to keep him happy. Lebron wants to keep his buddy Rich Paul happy so the compromise. Save money by other measures, don't commit to Lue and let him walk over to the Clippers, reject trade offers even if involves players like Christian Wood Bec they have to pay him more $ beyond this season etc etc. But Bec they don't want to totally upset Lebron, they go ahead and overpay Klutch clients like THT, Walker and the freaking Troy Brown who averaged 4 its/game season. :banghead:

Forgot about Lopez and Lue for some reason lol

Made it even worse

Lakers should pay up

ANd if BKN wants 2 picks then 27 gets light protections and 29 gets heavy protections (can become 2nds) and we get to pick the 2nd guy we want

I honestly feel bad for you guys.

It looks like BK is running it back. I know you will never forgive Pelinka for not giving up one extra first rounder if you don't win a title this season. I have felt so much pain over the years following the Nets and if anyone understands the value of getting a stud player it is me. We only had a few in decades.

I wish you well getting rid of Westbrook. Maybe the Knicks will take him from you and you can get something in return... who knows?

Jeannie would probably approve bec he is an expirer. Ham would approve bec he plays tough defense. James and Rob approves bec he can shot the 3(career 38%). The only concern is if Utah would like to pay THT for 2 extra years?

I know we're all down on THT but trading him for Beverly is not good value. Beverly is 34, often injured and constantly in foul trouble when he is able to play. The Clips dumped him for Bledsoe in a purely financial move and didn't miss a beat.

We know the game already. The Nets don't. They are headed nowhere. He ain't planning on staying. They don't want him there. They will lose him for nothing. And they must move him. Sure, later. But we've seen these things before, it is better to move him sooner. The Team always get pinched
