That's much less assets than the Anthony Davis trade. Nets want at least that. Bridges trade value is not that high, sorry to break it to ya. Yes, it's a lot of picks but the Nets want at minimum, 1 blue chip player.
Respectfully disagree
Keep in mind
1. 26 year old AD trade value was much higher at the time then 34 yr old Durant coming off Achilles surgery. AD was supposed to give lakers a long window that allowed them to lose their depth, KD likely has a very short ~2 yr window. AD was considered top 5 player at this time.
2. Bridges is worth more now the Ingram was 3 years ago. Ingram had not established himself as a star, and was at high risk of retirement due to blood clot issue.
3. These phx picks are worth a lot more then LA.
1. (a) KD now > AD then. Last season KD was top2-3 in MVP discussion until the unlucky injury happened. (b) AD was also on a much shorter contract which was also a factor. (c) AD is also highly injury prone, so I think that's a wash when comparing to KD. KD has long history of phenomenal recovery from injury as well.
2. Ingram was seen as a guy with a high ceiling(multiple all-star & 1a/1b on a team), who had a crap situation in LA and still needed some time to develop. His ceiling even in that crap situation was still higher than what Bridges is now. High risk of retirement is hyperbole.
3. How is it worth more?? Just because you say so? They are around similar levels of value. Lakers had an aging LBJ, injury prone AD and a supporting cast that was good not great. This is before the whole Westbrook debacle happened. Lakers had been a mess before LBJ got there and to the surprise of no one, are still a bit of a mess.
While Booker is not at the same level as AD, he's far more reliable and would be a better bet to keep PHX from being a lottery team.
I get you want KD on the cheap (who wouldn't?) but the reality is that it's not gonna happen that way.
Again, I am here posting because I think KD wants to be in phx, so the trade will happen… and I expect my favorite player to be a Net.
The phx picks are worth more because Phx doesn’t attract stars/FA like the lakers. At the time AD was considered 26 yr old top 5 player, not many think Booker is a top 5 player right now.
The 1 yr remaining meant nothing for value to LA because they knew AD would resign
1 yr of 34-35 yr old Durant
1 yr of 35-36 yr old Durant
1 yr of 36-37 yr old Durant
1 yr of 37-38 yr old Durant
Vs AD 26 to 38 age seasons.
We can’t ignore Durants age. There is a reason there are no young all stats on table for KD right now.. doesn’t mean he can’t bring back an awesome package.
