Realistically how do the front office see this starting 5 play out? Usage/roles etc. Assuming Mitchell comes and RJ/Randle stay.

Do they force Randle to change his game? How would they rank the usage of the starting 5?

1. Spida?
2. Brunson
3. Randle
4. RJ?

That would destroy RJ's development.

Ainge missed out on cashing his assets when he was in Boston. He knows how this can go badly on his end as well. If he waits he could get way less

I would give them Grimes, IQ, McBride + the picks if I can hold onto Obi.

I understand those that want to go for it, but Mitchell is not it for me. Best of luck tho.

if that's the case, trade jalen back the the mavs come dec 15th

Lol, not going to happen dude. Deal with two 6 footers as our backcourt for at least the next 4 years.

And we do have other ballhandlers already. Brunson, Rose, RJ, Randle, IQ, etc.

Brunson is just the stable PG we lacked. No way is he above RJ or Randle.

If the Knicks give up IQ, Obi, Grimes and 40 picks, that's a bad trade for me old mate Donno.

Donno's a good bloke but sweet baby wombats, this one's gonna be a doozy.

Let's make him wait because we're not in a rush. We know that Danny Ainge can't afford to have Mitchell win games this upcoming season and ruin his obvious goal to tank or have him publically announcing he wants out.

What I dont like is we lose too much backcourt D in that trade.

Agreed they can't have all of Grimes/IQ/Obi + 6 1st rounders. At least 1 of the kids needs to stay.

There is no way the Knicks were 'close' to a deal that sends 4 young players and 6 picks out, I don't believe it, that's a Jazz leak to a Jazz reporter trying to give the Jazz more leverage and/or make Rose look weak in negotiating.

Word. I prefer to keep Obi cuz you’re gonna need another frontcourt off the ball finisher to benefit from the attention Spida and JB get.

IQ is gonna be buried anyway. Grimes is our 2nd best prospect so of course he gonna have to go. McBride is no deal killer cuz he is buried here.

He should have already said this. This feels Melo-ish. You know, when the incoming guy doesn't force a quick trade and the asking team gets slowly bled of its assets. Donovan needed to Ben Simmons this thing. Now we wait weeks for other teams to collect their thoughts and NY to finally jump at some absurd price.

I feel like Brunson/Mitchell/Rose can man the 96 mins at the guard spot...maybe find a vet to be a defender.
