Government needs to keep its nose out of agriculture, 100%. But it has a very important role to play in the health sector. Adverse selection in health insurance is a standard example of market failure that requires government intervention, and there's an important role for public health researchers to gather and analyze information about diseases like COVID as well. And like DCZards said, they're on your side.

Every human enterprise has examples of big mistakes, or worse of people abusing power for their own agenda. But if you can’t have a (skeptical, informed, cautious) belief in science that is transparent and peer reviewed, then you don’t believe in anything.

American medicine is full of bias, usually towards hospital and big pharma profits and moonshot cures over public health. When they say to do something that nobody is making $$ from, they’re more likely to be right.
Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

Government is all-in on agriculture - take a look at the farm bill.

Yes, it's why the Economic Research Service of USDA was intentionally relocated to Kansas City, Missouri and lost 70% of their staff. All they ever did was whine about how distortionary and unnecessarily expensive our farm subsidy programs are, no one wanted to hear it.
