Yikes. Celtics could go either big or small depending on the matchup while we are stuck with Martin at the 4

The Celtics appear no closer to acquiring Durant than others in discussions with the Nets, but Boston's ability to include All-Star forward Jaylen Brown as a centerpiece in offers does help to make the team formidable in its pursuit, sources said.
The Celtics consider All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum off limits in any trade talks, but Boston is able to construct a package for Durant that could include Brown and as many as three unprotected first-round picks (2025, 2027 and 2029) -- and two pick swaps (2024 and 2026). Brown, 25, has two years and $56 million left on his current contract.
Look at the words Woj used in the article haha. Feels like Woj just wanted some clicks and Nets leaked this because they want a better package

Omg is this thread almost over? Plz people post 3 more pages on nonsense and then someone respectable (no Iggie, goodboy, chalm) make a new thread.
For those who wonder why these 3 are on the bad OP list:
Goodboy: last thread resulted in anatomy discussion of a Heat player
IggieCC: Could not win as an OP in the playoffs
Chalm: See ATL GT history, general scum in posts. Lakers fan.

I don't love any of these options but at least there's a bunch of them lol
Just play Robinson at PF.
If he wasn't so soft..could've been a interesting path.
He has the height and shooting to be a stretch 4, but the inside presence would be non existent.
If we had a Gobert next to him...might have worked

If they need him to show up in the closing unit, why does it matter if he starts or comes up off the bench? It's not like we're closing with just bench players. I disagree with the notion that Herro starting is just to appease his ego. He's the best player at the position, barring an Oladipo return to pre-injury form, and it's high time we start rolling with our five best. We're the only team trying to contend that thinks its a good idea to start lesser talents because of "gravity" and other nerdy nonsense.
Because the Heat need him coming off the bench. Y'all worried about some badge of honor for Herro. And you don't just start the most talented players. You put players in the best roles that help win games. It's a reason why players like Odom, Kukoc, Ginobli and Jordan Poole came off the bench and closed games on their title teams. You can't say in one breath agree the starting unit is not a problem but then it's not an ego thing but say Herro deserves to start.
Herro gets the bigger role as a sixth man than a starter. He got 18 shots a game. That is a lot. You have to understand there are limited amount of shots in the game. You spot players so they can get utilized to their fullest and not be minimized. Duncan and Strus has a smaller role and that is why they started. You seen what happened to Chris Bosh. Bosh had to sacrifice his usage to start next to Wade and James and play a limited role. That is what will happen to Herro. This is a common balancing act that goes back 30 plus years.
I said this last year and this year. Herro is at his best when he can focus as a scorer and not a distributor. He struggled having to share shots with Bam and Jimmy together. Because when all three on the court together one of the three has to sacrifice
Are the proposed trades for Mitchell or Durant for them to come off the bench?
The other issue we've always had is Spo has no offensive system to take advantage of people's skillsets.
Huh you're comparing Herro to Durant and Mitchell? Man wth is going on with you guys and girls? I swear you guys are just knowly saying things that you know is silly. Durant and Mitchell come here the team will be built around either those two and Bam and Jimmy would have to sacrifice. They would be the clear cut number one player on this team. Which why the roster would be gutted to acquire those two with Herro being part of that gut.
C'Mon I'm not gonna explain that any moreso, I expect better than that out of you guys and girls. This is where people get annoyed by Herro's fan boys. Inside you see Herro as an elite level player on the pars of Durant, Luka and Mitchell. And it evidently spews out when people try to have a level conversation about him. It creates a polar atmosphere discussion which now influences someone has to negatively critique Herro to counter this hyperbolic love for Herro.

Celtics aren't giving that up. If I were Celtics I'd hesitate to move Jaylen even alone, but no way am I doing 5 drafts worth of picks and swaps on top of it.
You have a young team that just made the NBA finals, not sure I disrupt that for a 34 year old with injury history. Could end up being the reverse of the Nets-Boston trade for KG and Pierce, if KD doesn't last a season and Tatum has an injury.

2. Miami reached back out to Brooklyn team on Friday to see if there is anything imminent there or if they are moving in a different direction. Their response is that they are still mulling over all the offers presently on their side. Teams have given their best offer to date and there's been very little response to increasing an offer from anyone around the league, including Miami.
3. Durant has began to express distain for remaining although not leaked to the league yet there's was some players talking about him just getting through a internal meeting last week with the GM prior to him leaving on vacation and it was sour.
What exactly are the nets going to do if they prefer a package from a team KD didn't have on his list knowing Miami is where he wants to be. Can understand why Miami are optimistic. I think it's only a matter of time. . .
At some point, the assets are going to be deemed good enough. You can debate whether Herro, Lowry, Robinson, Yurtseven, Jovic and a bunch of firsts is good value, but if KD only wants Miami, it’s better to get some assets than none. Herro can always be pumped up and flipped like DLo was by BKN if they don’t see him in their long term plans.
If that TikTok image is legit, it’s a curious choice to have as a profile picture for sure.
RIGHT!
Had our package been insufficient we'd already be out of discussions. According to ICC's updates there's been confident energy in landing KD. I believe It's inevitable. . .
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Funny to read these reports knowing we've been updated by our source w/ direct inside info making Woj look foolish here.
KD never had Boston in his sights. Do you really think he'd be happy if he wast traded to a destination that isn't Miami? Net's have no choice at this point. Quit playing games & ship him to Miami already. why prolong the inevitable...

Honestly Boston adding KD would be a bad move. Tatum and KD operate in the same way on the court. Brown adds a different aspect to Boston's offense being able to consistently get to the basket and drive and kick and he's also a better defender. You put KD and Tatum out there together then I don't see much cohesion with their games it would just be one or the other getting their own shot.
I hope Boston make this trade. I'm not sure Boston would be that much better with KD over Brown. Then once Brown goes to BKN for next two years and expires the same year Lowry does and we can try create enough cap room to snatch him up.

Dude is 215lbs, he‘a at Ariza weight. He’d need to be in the PJ/Jae level of dog to get away with that, but he’s far from it. If he could add 20lbs then he might be in discussion, but I’d still be

Interesting, Commish Silver seems like the Canary in the Coal Mine and if he's voicing displeasure with player empowerment/movement in the league, ya can bet that the Owners are prepping to make changes to the CBA. December Opt out is looming.
Can see the Nets FO telling KD he aint going anywhere and run it back with Simmons/Irving/Durant for the 22/23 season, possibly in order to raise value to the trade deadline.

Woj is just leaking stuff for the Nets and throwing **** at the walls. Heat could add Jimmy & Bam to a Durant deal, making abets a ready-made top-4 threat.
But we won’t.

There a reason the Raptors don’t have KD, there’s a reason Celtics don’t have KD, there’s a reason 5 or 6 other teams don’t have KD:
he’s made it clear who he wants to play for other teams don’t want a mopey KD who will pull this same thing in less than a year.
Nets need to give him what he wants before things get Harden-level bad.

“The Celtics offered Brown, guard Derrick White and a draft pick to the Nets for Durant, sources said. The proposal was rejected, and Brooklyn has asked Boston — in any proposal — to include Brown, Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Smart, draft picks and potentially one more rotation player, those sources added. Currently, the Celtics are less inclined to include Smart along with multiple other player or pick assets, but the franchise is mulling over next steps on how to approach discussions.”

I kinda hope Boston does this and we can reroute Jalen Brown here somehow.
