I'm confused. ICC source informed him with an update saying this thing is real and they're ready to pull the trigger. Here we have people plugged in saying this offer was old. What's going on here.

From the sound of it, they could have been talking about this trade from a week ago, however it must of been officially sent their way this morning which is why it was leaked so teams could be aware that Boston is leading the offers. If Miami was told to counter it, then they have something official from Boston on paper.

you mean playing Bam as a 4 ? would not work he doestn have a reliable jump shot. It might be nonsensical to you but posters can complain all they want either if you agree with it or not, you are voicing your opinion that signing PJ for the MLE would have been a mistake, which i agree. But it doesnt take from the fact we are still with a glaring big hole at the 4 and now it seems we will have to play freaking Caleb Martin as a power forward, we are just set to fail from the very start.

And I can point out emotional venting all I want.

Yurt would theoretically provide spacing in the Bam-Yurt scenario. I'm not ready to shut the door on him or that at this juncture.

And I can point out emotional venting all I want. Sure you can, as they all have the reight to post their opinions even if you like them or not. At the end of the day this is not Greg's forums, people come here to express and not have their opinions almost ridiculed by anybody or diminished by anybody.

I thought this forum was intended to have opinions and ideas challenged and explored regarding the Miami Heat.

Case in point, your very next paragraph in response to my comment on Bam-Yurt:

On the Yurt front, his jumper is not ready yet, he was coming along fine but we decided to bench him and never gave him anymore meaningful minutes the moment Adebay, Jimmy and Dedmond all came out of their injuries. So unless he improves a lot this offseason, he is not provinding space.

I think it's an accurate concern to monitor. Yurt seemingly was only trained to play in the paint during the regular season last year. Some of his international play and G League play shows someone more adept at spot up 3 point shooting.

If Miami doesn't make additional personnel moves to address the 4, I'll personally be very interested in monitoring how they will use Yurt.

My other concern with Yurt is that he doesn't have the ideal wingspan to cover for having a lumbering big on the floor defensively.

Forget KD and Mitchell, seems very unlikely.

Id be looking at Deandre Fox as the next star. Once Kings implode we should pounce.

I read it as BKN specifically pulled the lever (Marks gave morsel to Woj/Shams) to have media leak news of a Boston offer NOW with aim to have suitors up their offers.

Let the suitors sit for a week and get desperate then prompt them to bite.

On another note I'll say this. People are saying if we land KD we will gut our roster and won't have anything to put around the remaining guys. That is true but I also don't think with KD we win immediately this year regardless. I do think we would need the following off season to address FA and possible little trades to fit the roster around KD, Bam, and Jimmy. It's still a risk I'm willing to take. When KD and Butler contracts are up that's a lot of cap space. Could always go big game hunting again. Who knows....maybe KD and Butler are still solid role players at that point and sign for lower rates. Maybe they age like LeBron. That's the beauty of sports. So much unexpected stuff can happen.....unless you're the Cleveland Browns.

If we keep Bam I expect Fox here eventually. They're supposedly good friends.

If this is true then why didn't get a PF through FA. I don't mind waiting till trade deadline to make a move if KD and Mitchell doesn't materialize but we can't go to the season with a huge hole in the starting 4 position.
If Kyrie doesn't end up in LA then we should wait and keep our assets in case either Bron or AD become available in the trade deadline. The LA roster isn't great and if they don't get Kyrie its going to self destruct again.
Otherwise we should make a move for Myles Turner for a 1st Yurt and Duncan and no more than that. Outside LA self destructing, I don't see any other potential trades for allstar level players being available this season.

This is the other point they made: Pj Tucker was the second largest signing $ in terms of a player switching to another team. So when we say they should have a got a PF in FA who are we even talking about? Gallinari? Tj Warren? Kyle Andersen?

Thad Young would have been my pick. Kyle Anderson would have been a nice option as well. I don't like Gallinari at this age but I could stomach him for a season or two.
You just can't go the season with a big question mark on the starting PF position if you plan to hold your assets till the trade deadline. Now the options for starting 4 are a lot of maybes.
Maybe Caleb who is hurt quite a bit bulk up and handle the 4, or maybe Jovic can be ready after training camp or maybe Yurt/Bam or Dedmon/Bam can work ?
We knew PJ was a goner before FA started, there should have been some plan to have someone replace him even temporarily while the FO goes whale hunting.

Basically since they signed less for their 2nd contract they can't be offered the max extension so they'll go to free agency vs get a lesser extension. So trading for Brown could mean he becomes a free agent and Brooklyn could lose him in a couple of years. This is why they're ok moving Brown and why San Antonio moved Murray.

Listen Greg, I am assuming you are an adult same as probably most of the posters here, but do you think its nice to call out a poster's opinion as nonsensical ? I mean some people might understand the game better than others, buts its ok also not to understand it, we are all here to learn about our team and the game, and if you consider yourself to be above certain posters with your ability to understand the game of basketball, then isnt your role to at least make them see the flaw in their argument without sounding like you are a superior basketball mind? At the end of the day you can do as you please but in My Opinion our forums will be better as a whole.

About your Yurt's analysis, i completely agree.
You all have a wonderful Monday.

Speaking of rafters, I should’ve known better than to trust Ice Cold Balsero.

Spoiler:
jk, ICC. That low-hanging rafter joke packet was too juicy to pass up. Keep the rumors coming.
