I thought this forum was intended to have opinions and ideas challenged and explored regarding the Miami Heat.

Case in point, your very next paragraph in response to my comment on Bam-Yurt:

On the Yurt front, his jumper is not ready yet, he was coming along fine but we decided to bench him and never gave him anymore meaningful minutes the moment Adebay, Jimmy and Dedmond all came out of their injuries. So unless he improves a lot this offseason, he is not provinding space.

I think it's an accurate concern to monitor. Yurt seemingly was only trained to play in the paint during the regular season last year. Some of his international play and G League play shows someone more adept at spot up 3 point shooting.

If Miami doesn't make additional personnel moves to address the 4, I'll personally be very interested in monitoring how they will use Yurt.

My other concern with Yurt is that he doesn't have the ideal wingspan to cover for having a lumbering big on the floor defensively.

Listen Greg, I am assuming you are an adult same as probably most of the posters here, but do you think its nice to call out a poster's opinion as nonsensical ? I mean some people might understand the game better than others, buts its ok also not to understand it, we are all here to learn about our team and the game, and if you consider yourself to be above certain posters with your ability to understand the game of basketball, then isnt your role to at least make them see the flaw in their argument without sounding like you are a superior basketball mind? At the end of the day you can do as you please but in My Opinion our forums will be better as a whole.

About your Yurt's analysis, i completely agree.
You all have a wonderful Monday.

I just don't see how the forum will be better as a whole if it just becomes an echo chamber of emotional grievances thrown at the team and FO we support with no context. To me that's how it becomes as unstable as a game thread (during the game) or as Heat twitter (neither of which I spend much time on for those exact reasons). It then becomes something that is not conducive to deeper discussion or understanding. I learn a ton on this board from quality posters.

I always make it a point to attack the argument/opinion and not the poster specifically because I am an adult and operate with respect and identify the difference between the two.

Do we eventually try to see what we can get for Butler? A depreciating asset next yr if not already

Windhorst seems to have developed a pretty unique and valued reporting role in the NBA landscape. Who would have thought he would eventually become the reporter I value and trust most when he was just following LeBron around jocksniffing and scooping up morsels?

I was literally just thinking this today. I never use to take any of his reporting seriously prior to this off season. He's been on point with all his reports lately. Was on Mitchell news before everyone else.

You cant trade your best player in the playoffs and expect to improve. Playoff Jimmy is top 10 in the league and it sends the wrong message to other FA or players were interested in. If KD was 28 and pre injury, this narrative may be different.

Pray Lowry and Duncan get back to form and Herro/BAM take the next step. It would be great to beat these teams loading up with our core and a few tweaks. Wishful thinking, maybe, but not selling everyone off for a aging KD. These trade rejections are crazy.

If Jaylen Brown becomes available, you have to explore that. He is legit and with Heat culture, he would be better I think.

Reality of the situation seems to be that we don't have the assets for the type of help Jimmy needs... Selling high should be on the table if a decent young player becomes available--

Like I would do Jimmy for Brown straight-up if that were possible, cause we probably can't afford Brown otherwise

I can see that as an option, mainly due to age and potential, but as much as I love Brown since he was a rook, would be hard to watch Jimmy in the playoffs against us. Would see him headed to the locker room after the game saying "Jaylen Brown for me?"

Jimmy has played 26,501 minutes (RS and PS) in his career. To put that into perspective 25yo LeBron was at 25,197 before he even joined the Heat lol

So this KD drama, I want to stop thinking abotu ti for a little while because it seems it wont go our way again.

Anyway about the Butler 3. Miami had 22 secs left, a timeout, were only down by 2, had momentum, at home.

Jimmy... even IF he made the 3 pointer, Celtics down 1 point with 16 seconds left on the clock. Coulda lost anyway.

Such a low IQ play by Jimmy.

If Boston, of all the 29 other teams that can land Durant, actually lands Durant, that'll be the perfect end to this offseason. I couldn't think of a worse thing that could happen than having Boston land Durant....literally anywhere else is ok with me. Not for any basketball reasons...it's simply just because I despise that team more than any other team at this point.

Yep… injuries always happens so a slot will open up for him but theres five all nba spots from last year that to me can be flipped for jaylen at least once

Siakam
kAT..
Chris Paul - this spot is almost guaranteed, jaylen is better than him
Derozan
Trae Young

Maybe even lebron on year 20 doesnt make all nba, especially if he doesnt meet the games played criteria. So thats potentially six slots not counting any injuries.

Joel Embiid is always a toss up to meet the games played criteria as well

While I hate Boston too if we can’t land kd it’s actually good that he goes there IF they give up brown and smart for him, I think that they would be worse now and in the future too esp given kds injury history

Jaylen brown is a PROBLEM, the master of making tough shots, really don’t like playing against him

I know he had a tough series and people kept ragging on him..

He’s a Heat type player… he’s a more well rounded player than Tatum, not saying hes better but theres a lot of times he is better. Plays defense, offense, can shoot..

He would be perfect next to Butler..

KD was the only real offensive threat on the court in a lot of these situations.

Here's game 4, 39 points on 31 shots.

It will be better as a whole because we will be acting with empathy towards others, even if we dont agree with their opinion. Who are we to think we have the absolute truth in our hands? our own opinions are based on what? numbers? what we sometimes call facts? sometimes numbers do not give you an accurate picture on a player, this is just an example. As per a chamber of emotional grievances, i just dont see it that way, everybody is pretty cool here and even if some comments might sound a little crazy its all good at the end.

I am an adult and operate with respect and identify the difference between the two
Calling an opinion nonsensical, is basically calling the poster ridicuolously impractical ( as per the dictionary ) I am not here to judge as you conduct yourself here, in fact this will be my last post regarding this. But i wanted to make an observation and bring it up to you.

Wow my use of the word "nonsensical" with regards to people misplacing their frustration really triggered you.

I'd be disingenuous if I apologized, because I don't see how I did anything wrong. I appreciate all your sentiments about empathy.

But put on your damn big boy pants on a sports forum.
