"Celtic Pride" become nothing more than a marketing slogan in about 1997.

Still in favor of a trade that doesn't involve Smart or unprotected picks past 2025. (Will try to keep Grant as much as possible. Take Madar and PP.)

Why I also think KD won't be a Celtic when it's all said and done. Brad won't meet Nets price. KD won't sit out a season (not his nature). They'll just bring him back if no one meets the price by October.

If an injured, washed up Harden on an expiring contract netted a young all star (Simmons), a starter (Curry) and 2 first round picks……why is the Celtics offer of a young all star, a backup and only a pick for Durant something the Nets would take seriously when Durant is locked up for 4 years and still playing at near peak level? Is Harden more valuable than Durant or did the Celtics make a low ball offer just to kick the tires?
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Are we going to pretend that Simmons value wasn’t nuked? Comparing the two offers is disingenuous. It wasn’t a low ball offer, as it’s the best offer the Nets have gotten.

From the Nets perspective and relative to the market for star players, I would think so.

I personally would not trade Brown for KD due to age and injury considerations but my opinion is not the point. KD is a tremendous player - an all time great and the Nets value him highly. The offer made by Celtics was not a serious one at the time.

If Nets accepted it…..that would have been intersting I guess…..but I can’t imagine anybody in Boston front office believed the Nets would. Maybe, the realities of NBA rules and Durant’s demands may drive down the price and maybe the Nets won’t get a better deal. If so, will the Celtics make that trade? I don’t believe they will and I don’t think the Nets really are that desperate to trade him either.

How many votes do Brad, Ime, and Tatum saying yes count for?

Offer is standing.

Celtics didn’t deny the rumor. Only thing they had media come out to deny was the idea that Jaylen was unhappy in Boston.

If it is Brown, Smart, and 2 firsts you guys would probably win the title in the next 2 years. Tatum and KD with Brodgon and the role players you have around them would be insane.

a couple of years ago durant, no brainer, but given his age and injury history I would not do it even though he is a MUCH better player then brown...Unless Brown has told me he intends not to resign, in that case I take 2 years of old Durant vs 2 years of unhappy brown.

I agree with this take entirely. I think Brown can still get a max extension if he makes an all-NBA team so happy or not he will be ultra motivated this year. I think he can do it if this team wins 60 games. If that happens, I think we get a 5 year window rather than a 2 year window as a title contender.

While still unlikely, JB has a greater chance of making All-NBA on a lower seed Nets team as the primary scorer than on a 60-win team with JT as primary and so many other mouths to feed. Kinda similar to when Julius Randle made All-NBA two seasons ago.

Um that defeats the purpose of getting on All-NBA in this Case. Super max is only eligible on your first team/drafted team once you off no longer eligible for super max.

Yikes. Didn't know that. Makes sense. They introduced that to help teams keep the stars they drafted.

Anyway, getting all-NBA on a team that already has Tatum plus a couple of other scorers/mid-usage players is gonna be tough. With the addition of Brogdon, I think we see Brown with the ball even less.

I can't blame you guys for not wanting Durant tbh.

Hes an incredible player but he is constantly injured and the worst leader in sports.

He also literally got undressed in that Boston series and too many people are giving him a pass for it. Guy was getting shut down by Al Horford 1 on 1.

If I was a Boston fan I would rather stick with the core and let the chips fall where they may.

Still I'm hoping for a Boston trade because I like Jaylen Brown.

You guys are totally overestimating the value of winning a chip with a team that's not fun. I'd rather die trying with the Jays than win a chip with this locker room **** leader snake (which at this point given what he's shown as a leader is VEEEEERY doubtful).

16-17 and 21-22 C's have been some of my favourite seasons all time and I think there's a common theme there.

You guys wanna have KD and Tatum be the leaders of a championship team? The dude that can't face adversity and the guy the crapped the pants for us in the finals?
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

Durant wasn't even the worst leader on last season's Nets. ;)

Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)
