What a chit show indeed. Just take the Celtic's offer and run. Offers aren't getting better than that.

Ngl, I'd take Jaylen Brown, market him as the star and build on that. Dunno wtf the nets are trying to do, but Jaylen Brown unleashed is a fantastic return for 34 y/o KD.

related but not so related, GB mod jamaalstar21 changing his name to cupcakesnake is the most random thing I saw on RealGM possibly ever  he's such a great poster and seems very level-headed and not agenda driven, and he's a Wolves fan/mod? what did KD ever do to him? :dontknow:

And if he leaves in 2 years, you basically get ridiculed/clowned on for trading KD for 1 pick. At least Houston and OKC have a hoard of picks for the next 4-8 years from trading their superstars

Celtics probably feel similar with JB to how we feel with Bam. If we’re going to send you a young star you’ll be lucky to get an added asset to it for an aging star with injury history

Don't think Boston will cave. They have a young duo who are about to hit their primes and just added Brogdon and Gallinari. Brad Stevens was just trying to fleece the Nets by only offering a pick imo

So bizarre that Shams mentions us as one of the three most likely teams, yet we’re nowhere to be seen in Vegas odds. What’s up with that?

Picks are overrated by the way. Boston would be competitive, I'm not sure if that would result in high lotto picks.

At least for JB, you get a stud and ready. And he would welcome the idea of him being the face of the franchise, not the second banana.

The snekness radiates from KD. If you're in the vicinity you can be afflicted by it. Poor Jamaal caught a whiff and probably had to quarantine. Then felt obligated to prove to the world how anti-snek he has become.

How do you know he wants to leave Boston though? He's in a great situation right now that lets him compete to make All-NBA next year, so he can get the 35% cap space supermax. He goes to BKN -> Kyrie bounces to LA next offseason -> the team is capped out and it's just Ben Simmons + Jaylen Brown with 1 Boston pick to upgrade the roster. Sounds like a play in team to me

Yeah. I would be totally happy playing for a team that is about to trade me while being the best player in a finals series a few months ago

And for Sean Marks and Tsai. 2 years is a lot of time to convince JB to stay. Kyrie is out next year and they will find ways to get rid of Simmons.

Surely it was a mistake by Vegas or whatever the site was that gave those specific odds.

Have you seen the reports on the Boston side after that leak though? "Jaylen is happy being a Celtic and wants to stay." Boston org is mad at the leak and their insiders are saying the trade wasn't even a formal offer. They were just testing the waters and BKN intentionally leaked the offer to drive up the market

I don't care if we don't land KD. I'm trying to convince you that the proposed BKN package isn't the best unless Jaylen's camp agrees to it. You basically saw the big name and pressed accept on the trade right away without thinking about the long term risks. Back then, Danny Ainge saved all his picks for Anthony Davis. He didn't trade for Kawhi, Paul George or Jimmy when they were available. When AD finally requested his trade, why didn't the Celtics cuck the Lakers and get AD? Because AD's camp leaked it out loud that he wouldn't re-sign with Boston
