The guy just reshaped his whole physique, not a lot of players with that level of discipline after signing a long term deal.

that level of commitment indicates to me that he can regain and possibly exceed his form from two years ago

Yeah it’s a great sign. If he has a bounce back season, we’d be a pretty fun team. Rooting for him to prove everyone wrong

They wont trade randle without getting positive return back.
lakers have to give assets for RW.
just more board lies and fans flat out not getting it.
no wonder dolan have such a hard time finding success

no they can‘t. it just is the truth. and of course Russ sucks af but he is an expiring. why don‘t people get this?
player one for one w/o contracts I definitely would rather have Randle. but he makes 82 million after 22/23 and westbrook makes NONE.

Just Remember they don’t want to .
Really thinking the Knicks can’t give Julie away is conjecture because the FO has unlikely pursued those type of trades .

You don’t think Boston , Chicago , Brooklyn , etc etc couldn’t use Randle for free? The point is the FO isn’t looking to make that move .

yes ^^ of course I think that. because he can‘t play off the ball and all 3 teams have way better players. why would you add Randle? to get the ball out of tatum/browns/KD/kyrie/DDR/Lavines hands while paying a billion $ tax?

Of course he can play off the ball he is a PF!
His role on this team is to be the engine , Blame the coach not the player.
Way better players ?
Horford , Brooklyn has NOBODY so KD has to play pf , and Bulls only have question mark pat Williams .
Julius makes them all a better team .
Btw Julius makes less money than Al freakin triple single every other game Horford.
Why would they pay much tax ? They sending out the same salary they getting in .
They wouldn’t not pay more than they already are so it’s a non factor .

I'm hoping it fails too. Does anyone really think he'll ever be consistently top 10 in the NBA? I don't. And I doubt he'll even have 1 year as a top 5 guy.

I don't want to break the bank for a guy who is in the 10 to 25 range. Especially when there are roster fit issues. Roster fit issues are ignored for true superstars but for everyone else it is a concern.

I actually think he could put up some sick numbers offensively at the garden, but his defense scares me..doubly so because we don't have a Dejounte Murray to somewhat make up for it. I still would want him but for no more than the proposed offer -while switching out IQ for Obi.

IMO this talk about RJ is all cap to get the Knicks to move off of more picks and Grimes in addition to Obi. F@ck that mess.

We should have traded Randle for Batum when we had the chance.
Mavs
C: Horford | Goga | Paul Reed |
PF: Lauri Markkanen | Randle | Tucker
SF: Trey Murphy | Trent | Anderson | Simone
SG: Vassell | Trent | Livingston
PG: Spida | Mann | Deuce

I agree but to be fair without Randle we don't make the playoffs in 2021 and so let's be honest that run was fun.

It was our only enjoyable season since 2013. It's almost a decade ago

His defense terrifies me. He flat out stopped caring about defense entirerly after his first couple of years. Instead he put all the pressure on Gobert to bail him out. Frankly, Utah's post-season disappointments to me are primarily on the perimeter players, and especially Mitchell, who just said to Gobert you fix it.

To be a superstar while playing terrible D you need elite offense, ala Harden. Does anyone look at Mitchell and say that guy could be a top 3 offensive player in the NBA? I don't see the decision making to get there.

And I think he would.

He might not do as well as Randle if you put him in his role as the hub of the Knicks' offense.

But he's a much better defender and a better off-ball player than Randle, who projects much better than Randle as a piece on a winning team.

It's not some weird coincidence that Horford's made the playoffs 13 times in his career, and Randle only once. It's not just about help - Horford played a big part in the success of his teams. Including last year on the Celtics.

A lot of players can put up numbers if given a high usage. But do you contribute to winning on defense? Do you contribute to winning when you don't have the ball? These answers are a resounding yes in the case of Horford.

This guy typically throws stuff on the wall too. I will say the Cavs and Jazz have been tight for awhile long before Ainge showed up in Utah. They have done a number of deals the past few years. I do agree it was probably more of a due diligence thing on the part of the Cavs though. When someone like DM comes available of course most teams are going to at least do some due diligence and make a call or two.

We’re not talking about career achievement Horford , only current day 35 year old ,not very productive 46% fgs on lower volume than Mitch .

Al Horford is a solid role player . He isn’t capable of leading a team in 3 major categories like Julius. They are actually tiers apart .

he’s also wrong. you can’t trade for 2 rookie max extensions which is why the nets wouldn’t have been able to keep simmons if they got Donovan. you can have 2 as long as one of them were drafted by you which is why the heat would’ve been able to get donovan and keep bam and why the cavs wouldn’t have a problem extending mobley and having mitchell

If we get Spida at a reasonable price (not Ainge HOF scam price), do it. Just make sure to tamper with a guy that fits Mitchell next, rather than just pairing the biggest, most random offensive names together like we're the Chicago Bulls

Also, I still have Mitchell making that move to PG for us, so that we can surround him with good glue guys that can protect him.

Return to New York Knicks
