9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Why couldn't the Jays go for it like the Padres at the deadline?

Padres since the deadline: 19-20.

Jays since the deadline: 24-18.

Albert Pujols, who has basically just been a boat anchor for the past few seasons as he tries to reach various milestones, is having a legitimately excellent season at age 42, for his original team, one HR from 700 and en route to the playoffs. The best parts of baseball are the bits that make no sense whatsoever.

Edit: right as I finished typing that, he hit 700.

Pujols after tonight has wOBA .369 and wRC+ 143. Last time he had a season higher than those stats was 2011 his final year in St Louis.

Who would you rather have Luis Castillo for 5 years and 108 or 6 years (133)... OR Berrios at 7 years 131 mill.

Nevermind the prospects we gave away

The Rays challenging someone touching a base on a go-ahead HR in the playoffs and losing that challenge is so them.

And don't forget Buck Showalter embarrassing himself by incorrectly calling the guy dominating you out for cheating on the mound during that outing. Once a clown, always a clown.
