Someone on reddit took this pic last night. Gotta love how Joe has everyone's full attention and how together they all look.

Well except for Pritchard haha. Trade incoming?? (I'm joking)

I also like how Kabengele's attention is really focused on Al. Kabengele is a smart guy. He knows that where he wants to get to, Al has done it. He's probably studying the sh*t out of Al.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Kabengele there staring at his reflection in Al’s dome.

Re: Joe Mazzulla Thread – Celtics Interim Head Coach (2022-23)
I wonder how many times Mazzulla forced the Celtics to rewatch the first quarter of Game 7 against the Heat. Because there's really no better ad for the benefits of running all the time.
It's not rare to see teams start with a super high pace and drop off as the season progresses but I really hope the Celtics stick with this all year. The fact that after every board, players would either grab and go immediately or look for an outlet down the floor gives me hope that it's an integral part of the game plan and not just a bit of opportunism against an undisciplined opponent.
Can you imagine Embiid and Harden with their questionable conditioning trying to keep up with yesterday's track meet ? Do you think that Milwaukee's army of thirty somethings around Giannis is going to enjoy playing at that pace ?

Kabengele is flabbergasted and wondering what the heck is growing on Smart's head. Is that moss?

Joe Mazzulla is doing very well.
Especially for someone who found out that he'd be the Interim Head Coach, less than a week before jumping in.

None of the walking up the court and pounding of the ball until there's 12 seconds left in the shot clock even before getting into our first onball action. Part of our undoing in the Finals was letting the Dubs defense get set and making our slowdown deliberate offense become too predictable. Contrast that to Draymond and co. pushing the ball, make, TO, or miss whenever possible. If the excuse is fatigue, improve players conditioning or lengthen the rotation.
It’s a point of emphasis, FWIW.

Nice Herald article on Mazzulla
https://www.bostonherald.com/2022/10/18/why-joe-mazzulla-molded-by-west-virginia-was-destined-to-become-celtics-head-coach/
-- Mazzulla was a hothead. Mazzulla took after his father a lot. Other sources say Mazzulla's father was a hothead. I'm connecting the dots in the obvious way.
-- Joe outgrew being a hothead. (So, I think, did his father.)
-- Joe was feisty, competitive, hard-working, etc. in college. But he wasn't actually that good. E.g., he didn't always start.
-- When his team played a top-seeded Kentucky in the Final Four, his coach introduced a gimmick defense, namely a 1-3-1 zone with Joe playing the back row. And so he guarded Demarcus Cousins all night. And his team won.

That last bit suggests to me that Mazzulla is just fine with PGs defending bigger guys.

Joe Mazulla as best player in final four game against a Kentucky team that started John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Patrick Patterson and Eric Bledsoe is mind blowing.

"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I was really impressed with Joe last night. He was very locked in during the game and I thought he was really impressive discussing the game during his second half interview.
After Tatum got a tech , you could read his lips as he led an impressive timeout to calm down and inspire the players.
If our stars are bought in, I am too.
