I agree with this take. But I also think mega threads can be of value over the short term when a board is getting flooded. The key is to only have it up for a couple days. On the trade board mega threads stay up for months and it totally ruins the topic IMO, it’s just to hard to follow with everyone/topic variation crammed into one thread.

Bust on the make.
MArk the words.
I dont know if it wil be because of injuries or because the fact that he can toy with some scrubs on low leagues does not mean that first time he is faced by a real nba player his shortcomings will show.
maybe both.
but its a bust coming and anyone with half a braincell can watch it coming from 100 hundred miles.
but of course, nba gms dont have many of those.

VW as 18y/o put up 6 and 5 in Euroleague.
Luka had 16 and 5, was MVP, Finals MVP and EL Champion, won same accolades in Spanish league.

VW is now clear No.1 pick and has his own mega threads on RGM
Luka was just another Euro bust, new Bender, Turkoglu as max ceiling…

Ohhh dear RGM and US reporters, please never change :D

Dude, I am a huge Luka fan, but your logic is so flawed. Actual production is only part of the equation when you evaluate a draft prospect. Athleticism and physical tools are just as important, if not more. Now Luka obviously should have went Nr. 1, but that does have nothing to do with Wembanyama, and how we evaluate him.

Luka was 19 the year he had his MVP season. But who cares, people knew Luka was a genius.
What Jokic or Giannis were doing at 18? They weren´t in Euroleague or Liga ACB and they ´re not so bad in NBA right? Dirk only played in German second league.
Unlike some people here, I watch Wembanyama since he´s 15.
Let´s just say he ´s not the type of player you see really often.

I played against a 7’2 kid when I was 16 (20 years ago) at our nationals tournament. I was floored by how tall he was but shocked he couldn’t get on the court. But I watched him in warm ups and he could barely run.

People don’t realize how hard it is for these guys to even run let alone do the amazing stuff that VW does. I wasn’t sure at first, but I’m all in on this kid. I can’t wait until he’s playing in the NBA next year.

Please enjoy and have a nice day.

Victor is gonna have an injury riddled career. One look at his frail body says so.

I don’t get that from him when I seen him he is built more like a 18 year old Kareem he looks a little skinner but not much and he also is a few inches taller. He’s very nimble and light on his feet unlike the other 7’ plus tall players in the past with injuries. Does he need to get stronger sure he does just like any 18yr old.

OP was pretty specific about how no threads were merged, so there aren't 50 pages of unrelated things. There are 2 pages of new posts. OP already avoided exactly what you're asking to be avoided. This is to calm the flood of 10+ Victor topics on the first page of the GB, without merging any of them.

I think the injury thing has become wildly overstated. There have been almost zero players built like Victor so we have almost zero data on how injury prone this type of body is. Maybe he ends up injury prone (happens to all kinds of players regardless of body type), but I think it's overly simplistic thinking to look at skinny guys and assume they're injury prone. There isn't data behind that. The large and heavy body type has been more prone to injury, but even that is based on limited data.

I would bet a lot of money his career is totally derailed by injuries by age 25.

You mean you weren't convinced about this thread by my amazing sales job in the OP?? This is a very exciting new thread!

I know what you're saying but I honestly don't think thread is going to get super-mega-long, for a while at least. The peak of last week's Wembanyama fever seems to have passed and I don't think he'll be making a ton of news in the short term. And we did this thread a little different by not merging all the other ones into it and making a big mess to start out with.

The point of this thread was mostly to make people stop making an entirely new thread for every Wembanyama-related thought that pops in their head. We had at least 9 of them going on at the same time and they were mostly redundant and we kept getting new ones. If this thread become cluttered we can revisit later.

Yes understood! I wasn’t trying to call you out I have just been on forums where there are mega threads and you would have one thread for everything Lebron repeated etc and it’s a mess. That’s why I’ve been anti mega thread for so long but I understand it’s use here. Have a good Sunday okay?
