Can this team win 3 straight?

Post#1 » by treyZz » Fri Oct 5, 2007 5:33 am

??

I fully expect this to go 5 and for the Cubs to choke it away late in game 5. I mean it would be the only way to end this roller coaster of a season.

Bartman is singing the stretch on Sunday so he is the anti-jinx.

(Don't worry this was just a rumor at NSBB)

No way in Hell Bartman steps foot onto the field with the Cubs down 0-2.

Well, I like our chances at home with Hill against Livan.

If we can win that and make it to a game 4 Lou needs to keep Z out there until he dies or his arm falls off if he's pitching like he did in game 1.

If we go to a 5th game, anything can happen...

If every human with any emotional connection to the Chicago Cubs organization can refrain from mentioning anything about the curse; billy goats, black cats, Bartman, '89, '03, or any other of the negatively significant years; then I think we have a chance.

The more we believe and hype up that damn curse, the more it haunts us.

What curese? :dontknow:

Actually, the curses may play right into our hands.

If you recall, all the curses came after Cubs were cruising, and it looked like they'd win it.

Now since our backs are against the wall, curses don't apply here.

It may just be time for an anti-curse to come and help us beat the odds to advance.

I think Cubs can win 3 straight. Soriano/Lee/Ramirez really need to come around. Put together some runs, and the pitching really needs to improve. Red Sox came back down 3-0 to the YANKEES, I think the Cubs can come back down only 2-0 to the Diamondbacks.

its not impossible to win 3 in a row. teams actually have done it before.

i think some home cooking will be good for the cubbies. backs are against the wall. they have to play all out. and hill? out of all 3 starters, i expected hill to lose. our aces came out w/ the L. maybe hill can be the unexpected one to come out w/ the W.

this is baseball. anything can happen.

I feel like they'll be able to feed off the adrenaline from the home crowd and snag these next two games...game 5 is a toss-up though, really depends on the mindset of the team going into that game.

I wish they weren't down 2-0 but I haven't lost hope yet. :D

This is a hot-cold team and right now, in the past 2 games, we've been cold.

Over the course of the year we have decreased the time when we can switch the hot and cold. The beginning of the year we would go for a couple weeks of bad games and later in the season we could shake off two hard games like this. We would come back and win a whole bunch, but never did we have to win 3 straight in a win or die situation. However this team has showed poise, albeit Lilly's explosion, but does that surprise you coming from a guy that tried to punch his last manager.

Ok forget Zambrano for game 4, lets get Grossman, then Chicago fans can channel all their anger on one sole person.

Grossman = GOAT

There is no way in hell this team can win three straight at this point. When Daryl Ward (Bench player), Geovany Soto, and theriot are the only three players with RBIs in the series so far, you aren't gonna win. Do i have hope no.. because im a cub fan. Cub fans are suppose to be suffer until the end of days.

We can win three straight for sure. The home games have an advantage obviously. Game 4 we have a major advantage of Big Z vs a rookie whose a better hitter than pitcher.

Can it happen? It could.
Do I want it to happen? Yes.
Do I think it will happen? No.

This team forgot that this is why they actually played the regular season...to get to the playoffs. With the exception of Z, Soto, Theriot it seems like the rest of the team was just happy to make the playoffs and leave it at that.

It seems as though there is no leadership on this squad. Ramirez had a towel over his head, Derek Lee looked like he was in a coma, and who knows what the hell Soriano was doing. I want to see one of these guys step up and put the team on this back. Unless that happens you can kiss the Cubs goodnight.

An outsiders opinion, the Cubs will win the game this afternoon, but lose it in Game 4 (who I think should be Webb).

They're pitching Livan today and Micah tomorrow, Webb would only pitch again if it was a game 5.
