Right make no mistake these two teams hate each other and they both wanted to win badly. Wolves pulled it out on the road coming back from 18 down. Amazing.

A tale of two announcers. His regular voice and intensity is a little slow and lacking. I like him when he gets animated. Like the Dlo dunk. He just needs to get us pumped a bit more. I have confidence his performance will improve as he settles in and gets to know the guys better.

Was there an announcer? I didn't notice, just like I never do.

Not gonna lie, I wish Pat Bev was here. Not so much for his play (though it is excellent.) But rather for him to jump up on the table and scream “take they ****** home.”

Tore his ACL last year.

I thought he had healed up from that ACL. Is he close to returning? 30-60 days?

That contested rainbow midrange turnaround was very Kobe/Jordan like. Then the few drives where he got contact and finished. Wolves should be very fun this season.

Thanks. I think there's a big time rivalry brewing between the Wolves and Clippers. I think both teams really dislike the other.

They were missing Powell, and he is a damn good player. That said, Rudy is arguably our best player (Ant and KAT fans mad at me now ;),) and the heart of our defense.

I said stars. I know how good Powell is and that is very good.

This is interesting. I observed the opposite. A lot of love between these teams. KAT was a Groomsman at PG’s wedding in Italy, and hung out with many of these guys there.

The Wolves young guys seemed very pleasant with Kawhi, Wall etc too. I’m sure they will compete in the future but this didn’t remotely feel like either team was going hard, or disliked each other.

I didn’t even see trash talk from either team.

They can be friends personally and still hate the other team. That is not a contradiction. Lots of teams have owned the Wolves over the years, but the Clippers definitely owned us until we turned that around last year. I know it was without Kawhi and part of the year without George. We added Rudy and got more experience. It's going to be great games between us this year and hopefully years to come. I would consider the Clippers the Wolves #1 rival right now. I definitely noticed some trash talk going down. More from the Clips than the Wolves.

2 out of 3 so far. Forbes is a sniper. He doesn’t do much else, but for his money he doesn’t need to. Always good to have a sniper on your bench that you can plug in when your marksman cannot shoot straight. Tonight it was Nowell throwing bricks and Forbes throwing splashdowns. Could be Dlo, Ant, MCD, or Prince tomorrow. Forbes is the perfect 11 man on the perfect 11th man contract.

Don't be too surprised if he is higher than 11th on our pecking order.

Everything I have seen and heard says he is 11. Naz has now started two games at PF. The first with Rudy and the second with KAT. This tells me that Naz is going to get minutes there, (at least until Finch rules it a failure, or KA just totally outshines him.) Likewise, JMAC has played consistent minutes in all preseason games. Add to this Finch’s clear affection/appreciation for JMAC, and I gotta believe he is in the top 10. Prince and Anderson are obvious.

This raises a simple question, Nowell or Forbes. Nowell is younger, in a contract year, and never had the kind of opportunity that Forbes has been given multiple times. It would be stupid and short sighted to not give him a real chance during the season to be our 6th man. Since Finch is neither stupid nor short sighted, I highly doubt he will bench Nowell for Forbes. That doesn’t mean Forbes couldn’t find his way in for Nowell if Nowell is cold or in foul trouble. But the pecking order seems clear.

I think Naz is only starting due to injuries and them trying to have some consistency. I don’t think you will see many KAT and Naz lineups when healthy.

Fair point. But, KA would have been the more natural starting PF. Naz getting the nod is unlikely to be random. The same was true against LAL with Rudy playing and KAT out. These things are little hints into the coaching staffs thought process, (at least their preseason experiments to gather data before trying things in the regular season.) I think Naz is too good to keep on the bench for all but a few minutes per game. Moreover, I think TC wants Naz in the rotation to help facilitate a trade at the max value.

1) How was Ant defense?
2) How was Towns passing?

One of the goals … avoid those players who need minutes to statistically perform. It’s just not winning basketball, and if it was, they would be playing more minutes.

DLo is a concern, but it’s nice that he will need to show he can lead, defend, and stay healthy the entire season if he wants to get paid.

Yep. I'd have him higher at 7/9 in the rotation. He and Nowell could be great together with Rudy.
