I would say you should write for the Journal/Sentinel, but then your readership would probably go down.

Have a feeling my tenure would be curtailed by an inability to stick to sports.

The only negative coming out of the scrimmage would be Ilver. He was the shining star on the Europe trip and apparently didn't look great on Sunday, per chones and others.

Of course these are all wacky games to judge on and it's a 1 or 3 game sample. But he's the only one you hope the hype sticks with.

Hodges is probably just going to be a garbage man for a year or two, and that's fine. Maybe he develops into more after that, but really we just need him to grab some rebounds and play defense/hit open layups for the next 2 years. In the limited highlights, I'm impressed that he's hanging in there given the reports last year were that he was "a long ways away." He's throwing himself around in the paint.

Excited the badgers have a sharp shooter! would really open it up for this team. shooting sub 33 percent has been hard on the eyes since the final four team.

FWIW, that's a bit misleading.

Last year's team was abnormally bad at shooting the 3.

Since the Final Four teams, Koenig was a sharpshooter at PG, Pritzl was a sharpshooter, albeit not our best, Davison was a good 3P shooter but they had just overall solid 3P shooters all around on those teams.

They shot 33.5% from 3 in the injury-riddled season (2017-2018) and 30.5% last year. Every other year since the Final Four teams, they've been 35-36%.

I loved/hated Davison but it's going to be weird not having him out there this year.

True it just seems they've been feast or famine . games they'd do the badger thing and miss 15 straight then get hot. hopefully this is a duncan robinson type that if he's open you expect a make.

Essegian's coach called him "the best shooter in the state of Indiana." My initial reaction was very <makes disinterested j.o. motion>.

After seeing him in person, my reaction was very <makes vigorous j.o. motion>.

Once fans get used to seeing him, there will be gasps of anticipation each time he squares up. Bohannon is probably the best comparison at the moment, but Essegian's release is something else.

Potroykus is bullish on him lest you think I'm gassing him up without cause.

Essegian may have the best combination of stroke/quick release I can recall seeing at Wisconsin.

Doesn't mean jack ****, but his shot is beautiful. And there's more to his game than his shot. Hopefully he can defend well enough to see the floor.

Sounds like a continuation from what he showed in France. Hopefully, there is enough defense to stay on the court. By all accounts, he is a worker, like the majority of UW recruits.

Klesmit supposedly has a lot of similar qualities in the way he plays. Of course, the outright trips/nut jabs and other plays where he gets aggressive causing some sort of controversy are the point of distinction. Hadn't heard much of him at Wofford like we had about Davison.

If anyone ever watched Pritzl in warmups that is nothing. I know both situations are uncontested but in general warmups in front of 15K people is a bit more difficult than an empty gym.

Obviously that often didn't translate to the court for Pritzl, I'm not saying it can't for this dude but it's tough to put much stock in it until you see it in games. hope this kid doesn't buckle to the pressure/speed like Pritzl did and we finally have a sharpshooter.

I have seen Pritzl in warm-ups.

There's a reason I used Bohannon in my comparison rather than Pritzl.

It's okay to have hope.
