I can’t wait to see a team of Paolo, Franz, Markelle, Bol, Jalen, Jon, Gary, Wendell, and Cole to play together. That’s a solid 9 man unit. Bol will really shine with better players around him.

Bol Bol is a friggin' revelation. Please just stay healthy, my redundantly named stick-figure man.

Bol has some potential, but I wonder why he hasn't developed a consistent 3pt shot if he wants to play on the perimeter? Like dude you're 7'2'' stop trying to put the ball on the floor and learn how to shoot. :banghead:

Nothing brings me much joy as Bol actually being a useful player. Pure elation on my face every time I see him gracefully stumble down the court.

Boston was trying to get out of PJ Dozier's contract. The cash was to off-set his salary after being waived. Bol was known to be heavily injured, and for Orlando, all that was really considered was getting a 2nd-round pick for absorbing Dozier.

Bol made the best of his time in Orlando leading to being signed as a FA this off-season. In that, in the end, Orlando simply acquired Bol in the FA market. (i.e. even if Bol had not been traded for last season, he mathematically could be a Magician right now).

I'm going to be honest I did not see anywhere near these kind of performances. With his injury history and lack of playing time he's almost like another rookie......scary thing is he's doing this without even shooting threes

I'm glad he's contributing but it still feels like a bit of a novelty to me. Ripping down boards and galloping down the court, crashing through a crowd and having an improbable layup bounce around and fall in don't feel like solid ground to build on to me. The same 'shots' get you benched if they don't somehow fall in. He's getting it done and he could be a really continuous contributor with his perimeter closeouts and cuts to the hoop (and occasional crazy drive), but I'm thinking it's just some short-lived fun.

I'll happily admit that I never thought he'd get on the court and he DOES add value. If it can be refined a bit, he might be the nice discovery that makes Isaac expendable as a valuable, but redundant, trade chip. Bol, potentially, has the same manic, long-limbed, hands on everything, defensive effect when he's at his best. I DO love his energy on both ends. I was wrong - but I'm still not completely sold.

He is active man.

Reminds me of a taller more skilled version of Bo Outlaw.

Great pickup and if he continues thus form...he'll get paid big in 2 years. Better than Nerlens Noels.

Yeah, he's a fun watch, but we'll see how that actually leads to winning.

He tries damn hard tho and that goes a long way.

I’ll help you out with some facts. Currently he has the best PER on the team. Given his minutes thus far if he continues just the same, he ends the season as valuable as PB. As far as stats that matter when building a team, he has the ones that matter. It comes down to how he is used in offense and defense. He might be as skilled and a better fit for this team than Wemby.

Bol is so much fun. A true win for the front office to get him for essentially nothing. Credit Bol too for really playing with consistent effort and energy. He's earned his minutes. Talent was never a question with him. To turn him into a positive rotation guy from afterthought is a real victory.

BTW Skybox, You do realize prior to his college injury he was projected in ALL mock drafts to go no later than 5. That was no mistake. He was consistently ranked just behind Zion and ahead of Ja and RJ.

In the 2018 ESPN 100 he was ranked #4
1. RJ
2. Zion
3. Cam
4. Bol

He was being touted as “taller version of Kevin Durant”. He was ALWAYS a stud when he wasn’t hurt and could play. His footwork is the kind a 6’6 guy has not a 7’2 player. It was the stress fracture in his foot at Oregon cratered his draft stock.

He was drafted in the second round and just hearing how his time in Denver went he never was given a chance and he also didn’t deserve because he had bad work ethic. Some blamed this on being drafted so late and him continued to be bitter about it.

His situation in Denver reminded me a lot like Darko with Detroit. Because neither team could develop talent given Championship aspirations . Darko never panned out even with loads of talent. Let’s hope Bol will.
