Re: Bol!
I cant wait til Bol plays Denver and I think he's going to play angry and motivated , He was treated more like a meme and I think he cant stand Coach Malone. Zeke Nnanji 1.6 ppg/3.41 PER was picked over Bol Bol as the guy Coach Malone wanted. As was just pointed out Bol has always had talent but dared to dribble between his legs and pass behind his back and pissed off Malone.
The reports out of training camp and the way he's slowly opening up his game as he feels more comfortable is going to unleash a big time player. In the 4 gms that he has played over 20 minutes he's shot 70 per cent (23/33) , avg 14ppg/8rpg in 25 mpg plus 2.5 bpg. This from a 22 yr old who had to overcome foot injuries. Paolo Banchero is exciting the BB World but here comes BOL shooting better and more efficiently ,getting more rebounds than Banchero and Carter and about ready to be one of the most elite shot rejectors in the world.
Orlando has struck gold.

Re: Bol!
For sure he's been a bargain acquisition.
The question for me is, in a contending team what is he?
A unicorn player implies someone not only different but special. Bol is different and is doing some great things, but is he special? Is it his versatility that's his superpower and, if so, is his best role on a good team that of bench swiss-army-knife?

Sorry to answer my own post, but there's a world where you play Bol as a shooter offensively and a 1-5 defender the other way. His shooting form is deliberate, but the release point is about 9ft off the ground - so there are about five guys in the NBA who can defend that on the perimeter. Basically, none of his shots are contested if he can mentally process that a hand in his face won't affect his shot at all.

He did the same to SGA and forced him to pass numerous times. Crazy but he’s capable of guarding these guys

Re: Bol!
I have to apologize to WeHam on Bol. I thought he was going to be a guy that may be riding DNPs all year and wouldn't be able to rely on. He is playing with so much confidence and starting to deliver on his pre college injury promise and we got him for essentially nothing. He can do a lil of everything although some of the lineup combination concern me. Now tell me again why Bamba was resigned????

Bamba was little more than insurance and is really an irrelevant piece to this squad.

I think Bamba on his Team Option deal was retained as trade bait or injury insurance. He can't be traded until January and I expect he will be - particularly if Bol, to my amazement, keeps it up. Isaac is who I expect(ed?) to be our roving 4th big, backing up all 3 frontcourt spots and, if he gets healthy, we need to get him out there to reclaim his value in the league as well. Our frontcourt is looking very strong and if Chuma wakes up and Moe Wagner returns to his old self...it's an embarrassment of riches...Only a few are starter quality, but it's still much more than we'll need. Hopefully, Bol's for real and it allows us to move other pieces for some shooters.
I'm really happy for Bol, his numbers are ridiculously strong, and his energy on both ends is great. I'm still not sure it's not another short-lived Lin-sanity type thing. He moves so oddly, bounces around, dribbles high as he gallops downcourt and crashes to the rim in awkward style...but they go in A LOT

Maybe that's the beauty of it, his wild body-type and movement is like an unorthodox MMA fighter whose style is deceptively efficient and ultimately successful. I'm not ready to hand him an All-Star vote yet, but I'm excited to keep watching.
Bol! Can’t wait to see your growing support of a player that was a top 5 projection in a very strong draft class. Just wait til Mosley actually draws up plays for him. Right now he is getting all his stats the way Dwight Howard did in his rookie year. Once Mos figures out how to utilize plays for him he will take another leap!

Has Mose EVER drawn up an offensive play?

Bol continues to impress. Looks like WeHam pulled off a heist on this one.

Man, you just described how Bol looks out on the court to perfection.

Re: Bol!
There's some kind of incredibly easy and good "Bol = Slender Man" joke out there, but I can't think of it. Hmpf.

Re: Bol!
Can we extend Bol's contract now before he becomes an All-Star and requires a max? I am only partly kidding.
