don't know why this is the hill you are dying on.. He needs to cut out the Giannis attempts but the PNR pick or pop has been fine...if anything we don't run it enough but thats due to Harden being out more than anything
I wish we'd stop taking the ITS THIS ONE PLAYERS FAULT approach to everything tho. Biid has issues and needs to be better and possibly his ego is in the way...for sure whatever...but I keep saying it basketball is a TEAM sport. You mention Malone (who for one was smaller but more athletic than Biid..) but forget the major part of that was also STOCKTON. I love Maxey to death but he aint Stockton passing wise.
its easy to point at the mini comeback and pair it down to see...we went two bigs which ignores the full context. 1. the Hawks stopped trying lol...hard to turn it back on. but more importantly that lineup had a bunch of long switchable WINGS albeit Walmart Brand versions of them instead of Slow Thick Men (pause). That made it hard to beat the initial POA defender, which allowed Harrell or Reed to come late for blocks or charges. With our normal lineup, players walk past most of our defenders sans Melton..and PJ is too slow and small to help when Biid comes up; Tobias is the woat off ball. And if Biid stays back to prevent that, it open season because more than likely the on ball guy died on a screen and is now chasing. Whereas in years past the on ball guy was Pre Space Jam Ben, who made it hard for guys to waltz into the paint and had the length to recover against smaller ballhandlers. BUT also we'd have Cov, JRich, Jimmy, and Thybulle as the other wing and only JJ or Seth to hide on a corner shooter. In our effort to go away from that, we lost a major aspect of what made those defenses work IMO..because Cov shot bricks, Ben didn't shoot at all, Thybulle is only good in doses, Jrich was a ponzi scheme and Jimmy could not be controlled lol. we should have been finding a Cov who can actually make shots (IMO that was Danny), a Ben who wasnt scared of the lights, A JRich who was as advertised, A Jimmy that didn't hurt fee fees. Instead our GM rebuilt is old team but older and worse lol. After our previous decided that spacing was actually bad. Its **** up that BC might have had the right idea in terms of the actual skillsets needed.
but who gives a **** right? The reality is that we really don't have many options anyway....so i'd rip off the band aid but with no picks, Harden potentially either walking or becoming an albatross...can't even do that lol
i hate it here
If pompey is right that Embiid dosent like harden/enjoy playing with him I think harden most likely will walk.
Maybe the team gets tired occasionally of a guy that is constantly out of shape, has the worst body language of all time when things aren't going his way, is constantly injured, doesn't get back in transition often, and hemorages turnovers? I love Embiid but when is any blame going to come his way? I honestly don't know how he managed a +10 with 7 turnovers and Capela and Okunwe combining to put up Wilt Chamberlain/Bill Russell esque rebound numbers. I know our back up centers were horrible, as usual, but still lol. Maybe he can aim a little annoyance at Mr. 2 rebound 35 milliion dollars per year and not one of the greatest offensive players of all time who the genius coach continues to run into the ground?
Because the pace is slow and the ball is not moving, so it limits your opportunistic baskets that you need to feed your role players to do their job on defense.
Then you have a defensive gameplan that CLEARLY does not work where you keep giving up easy baskets that is deflating to these multi millionaires.
If you’re not scoring and the defense is worse when you are on the court, you wont be able to earn a hefty contract after your stint is up.
This is why Jazz and Spurs are playing well. They look good when they are playing on the court.
There’s never been a time in history when we look back and say that the people who were censoring free speech were the good guys.
